About the Book

English summary: In this issue, we have summarized the work of the seminar Murlo in the spring of 2004, which took place in accordance with the now traditional formula of Antea: the theoretical relationships of scholars held in the morning, followed (in the afternoon) by works of experimental archeology on the topics covered. The theme of color and light is somehow a logical appendix to that of casting techniques and finishing. We include an important appendix for understanding the nature of the ancient statuary, which we have also addressed from a technical point of view, in order to understand the methods and practical inventions for the use of polychromy and light on the works of the plastic in bronze, while traditional historical and art studies have been developed mostly on plaster monochrome copies in plaster-cast museums.
