Peter J. Rizzo: Collected Poems is a unique assembly of verse gathered across four decades of living, reflecting, and writing. Including a new collection entitled Universal Mind, this book also reprints three previously published works: 1977's Return to Eldorado, 1979's Dream on America, and 1998's Notes from Florida.
Author Peter J. Rizzo pulls from his diverse background to reflect on a wide range of subjects like history, religion, horses, family living, and life in the golden age of American society.
Growing up on Long Island, New York, and then settling in Florida allows him the opportunity to live by and enjoy the oceans, rivers, and lakes of America.
His background in psychology has allowed him to deeply ponder relationships between friends, family, and the remarkable horses he has owned and loved.
And as a former airman in the Air Force, a professional polo player, and a student of world and American history, his global travels have exposed him to a wealth of cultural experiences.
For fans of George Oppen, Walt Whitman, and John Beecher, these sublime and insightful verses represent a baby boomer's journal of reflections, times, people, and places while living the American dream.
