About the Book

Since the very first GMJ Novel, Code Name VFO56, which was published in late 2014, I have written about the "Muslim Truce" which is officially denied by the authorities. Be that as it may, I stated that the new South African Government reached out to what many will call "Islamic Radicals" and offered or negotiated a deal - they will be welcomed to recuperate and be protected in this sphere but only if they behave. That is the spirit of Ubuntu, something that I explain in this book and a previous one, Code Name Wednesday 7. There simply was not a logical reason why there were so many new mosques. Accordingly, we kept a close eye on them. In Code Name Wednesday 7, I explained how the new mosques were penetrated and what else we found. I also explained Islam versus radical Islam. In Code Name OST-M, I mention that Muslim terrorism, and by this I mean radical terrorism, not mere criminal acts, disappeared from South Africa in the late 1990s. It was suspicious as other African countries were not so lucky. In later years it came out that the London Tube bombers of 2005 had South African / Southern Africa links. You can read a lot about the 'Muslim Truce" in the Intelligence Briefing, available at www.georgemjames.com, but the question is, what caused it? In Code Name Swan 53 we take a hard look at how the denied Muslim Truce came into being. What was behind it and how far did legendary statesman Nelson Mandela contribute to the Muslim Truce with his spirit of Ubuntu - the sacred duty to protect a guest when he is under your roof. Furthermore, I will describe his foreign policy views in some detail. Whether he was right or wrong is for you, as well as history, to decide... Description: Spymaster extraordinaire, Angelique Dawson is flying towards a clandestine meeting when her aircraft is diverted by ATC, Air Traffic Control, to act as a relay to a sinking ship. Little does she know, it is a trap. As the aircraft systems fail one by one including most instruments, Angelique and her crew are in great danger. Her future husband and bodyguard, the narrator, former Police Special Forces Company Commander, Geoffrey Foxtrot is once again pushed to his limits to protect Angelique. In the background, Code Name Swan 53 is an in-depth look at Nelson Mandela's foreign policies which took South Africa away from the Western sphere of influence. This indirectly caused the denied Muslim Truce where the new South African Government reached out to what many will call "Islamic Radicals" and offered or negotiated a deal - they will be welcomed to recuperate and be protected in this sphere but only if they behave in the spirit of Ubuntu. A policy that triggered open warfare in the shadows, forcing the South African operatives to make a decision as to where they stood... with terrorists or with their honour and beliefs. We also look at Israel's defeat against Hezbollah in 2006. It is worrisome. The Jewish State cannot afford to lose a war, it will cease to exist. If you wish to read about Covert and Special Forces Operations in sub-Saharan Africa, the GMJ Books are the place to start. You will learn about covert operations, Special Forces techniques and military history not known outside the select few. Code Name Swan 53 is the 45th book of the popular GMJ Series.
