C'mon, let's wash our hands! is a fun and educational children's book about reminding children to wash their hands.
Each page inspires children in different scenarios in a humorous way, every scene is close to our daily life, and every drawing makes people laugh. Written for children ages 3-8 or grades Pre-K-3rd, this book promises to be an entertaining addition to storytime or bedtime routine. I know kids will love it and adults will hopefully love it as well.
Inspiration for the BookHi everyone, my name is Jasmin, a 12-year-old girl. Like many children, I like drawing very much. From an early age, I began doodling my small world on paper every day. At the beginning, I liked to paint beautiful scenes such as princesses and fantasy. Later on, I began to draw the stories I experienced, about family, life, school, and friends. I have a variety of inspirations in my daily life, which inspires me to draw a variety of characters, cute and silly, which brings joy to others. And I like to share my work with my family and friends.
Early this year, because of the pandemic, many countries and cities have to close schools. Like many children, I stay at home. In addition to my learning plan, I have more time to focus on my drawings, and discuss what is happening in this world with family.
The idea of this book came up when we discussed the topic of handwashing. I wanted to draw some pictures where children need to wash their hands and wanted to put this serious topic in a relaxed and humorous way.
After I drew some drafts, my parents were deeply moved by my drawings. I was encouraged to put them into a book for children and share my work with a wider audience. To be honest, it is a challenge to go through all the processes of making a book at her age, from plan-making to content organizing, from the cover design to script editing, all of them are time-consuming and intensive. However, I believe it is a very worthwhile thing to try and help bring people joy and a positive attitude against the virus.
