When life and marriage are fragmented by Alzheimer's, strength can flourish, as the broken pieces of our hearts are remolded into a beautiful pattern by the hand of God.
Margaret-Maggie Honnold writes based on her life as a registered nurse, health educator, widow, mother of two grown children and six grandchildren, and a past Alzheimer's caregiver.
A graduate of Kankakee Community College Nursing Program, and Eastern Illinois University with a BS degree in Community Health Education, she has experience in both the hospital and community nursing settings, thus, having insight into life circumstances for all ages.
Her Spiritual gift of encouragement takes the form of essays, poetry, speaking and hobby photography. Since becoming a widow and retiring, she has spent time "Finding Maggie," and learning "The Art of Continue Anyway." She spends time as an Elder for her local church, traveling, volunteering as a board member for the local museum, and playing flute with a local group of eclectic musicians when time allows.
By the way, half of her friends call her Margaret, while the other half call her Maggie, thus, the Margaret-Maggie all-inclusive name identity.
After 43 years away, Margaret-Maggie now lives back in her home town of Carthage, a small town in Western Illinois with her three beloved Basset Hounds: ThelmaLou, Huck and RozElynne. Follow her on www.margarethonnold.com.
