Jahrhundert, 21 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die abendländische Philosophie stellt sich den Menschen gerne als das genuin wahrheitsliebenden Wesen vor, lässt dabei aber außer Acht, dass er es gleichzeitig zu lieben scheint, getäuscht zu werden. Die häufige Verwendung mystischer Assoziations- und Deutungsmuster deutet daraufhin, dass sich Videoclips als eine adäquate Form der Vernunftkritik anbieten wollen. Um den Gedanken des täuschungsliebenden Menschen zu erweitern, soll hier an Blaise Pascal erinnert werden, der vorschlug, das Leben als eine stabile Illusion zu verstehen. Das menschliche Verhalten ist im allgemeinen trugbefangen und getäuscht, wir begnügen uns nicht mit unserer reinen Existenz und versuchen als mehr zu erscheinen als wir eigentlich sind. In Videoclips ist diese Thematik eine der häufigsten, phantastische und "übermenschliche" Welten in Hülle und Fülle offenbaren den dringenden Wunsch des Menschen, über sein reales Sein hinauszuwachsen. Auf den Medienrezipienten angewandt könnte man behaupten: Der Betrachter hat die Wahrheit, aber sie ist nicht dort, wo er sich die Wahrheit eigentlich immer denkt. Welche Wahrheit hat hier der Betrachter? Als Annäherung soll die Vermutung dienen, dass die Wahrheit hier in Form einer Realität medialer Wirklichkeit erscheint(!). Hier offenbart sich eine zwiespältige Problematik: Denn wenn es so etwas wie Medienwirklichkeit der elektronischen Bilder geben soll, kann sie nur aus einer Fusion von Wirklichem und Möglichen bestehen, und damit wird das Realitätsprinzip im traditionellen Sinne außer Kraft gesetzt.
