About the Book

Trevor Trotter, thirteen-year-old, part time schoolboy and full time inventive- genius, nicknamed Cleva Treva by his schoolmates is packed off by his unsupportive parents, to spend the summer holidays with his uncle, world famous inventor Watty Trotter at "Shambles" his rambling old mansion in the country. Treva is delighted and can't wait to get there, but when he gets of the coach he is the victim of a botched kidnap attempt by an inept and seedy old crook called Inigo Scribs and his gang, Tough guy Morgan Grinder and spotty little twerp Squeeky Nails. Treva escapes and when he arrives at Shambles he learns that the gang are trying to steal his uncles latest world saving invention. The hilarious adventure, which ensues is packed with fun characters, Edwardian ghosts a mad scientist, a power crazed shady Millionaire and a Cluso-like police inspector. The excitement starts as the seedy gang do manage to kidnap Uncle Watty. Treva along with Pippa the feisty and indomitable daughter of his uncles housekeeper, set off to the Rescue with Deep-Fry his Uncles home-made ultra-intelligent talking computer. The fun and excitement continue right to the nail-biting end, where a crazy air-battle over an outdoor pop festival will not disappoint.
About the Author: Born in Bedford, then a small county town north of London at the height of the blitz growing up in the austerity of the late forties then benefiting from a formal education at The Bedford Modern School a Gothic Stone edifice in the centre of the town actually one of England's oldest schools, then going on to Luton Art School when Art was still a formal training, based on life drawing, painting, sculpture, fine-art printing Then to London's Regent Street Polly to study painting, etching and Lithography at the same time frequenting the many blues and Jazz clubs springing up in London's Soho and the West End, soon the call of music was too strong and he dropped out of Art School and became a professional guitarist, forming his own blues band, "The Authentics". They became very popular in the blues clubs and became resident band at London's leading club, "The Marquee" playing every Friday night with the Yardbirds. They supported the Rolling Stones on one of the first big open air concerts "The Richmond Jazz and Blues Festival" Eventually disillusioned by unreliable managers and unsupportive recording companies he turned his back on the music scene and with a young family to support he returned to painting, opening a small gallery and studio. This lead to increasing work as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator working for most of the major UK Toy, Gift and Greeting Card companies and then in the USA as an illustrator for children's books and animation. Now Living in France in a beautiful 16th century farmhouse, writing, painting and with a renewed interest in Music, he plays regularly with his blues band, In 2004 started a blues festival in the little town of Antigny which is going from strength to strength.
