About the Author: I am just a small town girl, living in the mountains of N.C. I have always loved the written word and words come to me easily on paper. Though most people would call me a poet I prefer the term storyteller. Every breath I take contains a story. Every tree, every leaf breathes life to the written word. There is an old saying that a picture is worth a thousand words. I never believed in it. Sometimes words cannot capture the depth of the soul. The way a child's eyes sparkle with excitement or even the hidden thoughts of a lover and their mate cannot always be captured by just a mere thousand words. No. It takes more. It takes imagination; it takes strength and purpose, and the will to believe. A gentle breeze, a savage storm, maniacal laughter riding the edge of sanity, the loss of hope, the gain of hope and the faith to believe in God through Jesus Christ our Savior, these are all things that inspire. Sometimes the spoken word cannot really convey your thoughts but the written word can be quite eloquent. I choose different words on paper that I would in my speech. More descriptive, more refined. People need to feel what they read, they need to be the character in a story, a movie, a play. They need to jump when surprised, laugh when something is funny, and smile when they are happy.
