About the Book
In the 21st Century, one of the most striking and worrisome phenomena in the western world, is the little interest that people show in religious matters. This is especially true, in the youth. The consequences of this situation are multiple. They include the following critical issues; moral bankruptcy, the increase in the level of criminality, the massive consumption of all kinds of drugs and their trafficking, a higher degree of academic failure among the youth, an alarming rate of juvenile delinquency, the easy disintegration of marriages, a higher and glamorization of prostitution with its legalization in some countries, social injustice, the increase of religious sects, the increase of passion crimes and a remarkable decrease in requests for religious vocations. This list is endless. People are spiritually helpless and find themselves powerless, before the gradual "de-Christianization" of society. In Spain, where the majority of people are catholic, the church pinned the blame on the social policy of the then socialist government. It is headed by Mr. Luis Rodriguez Zapatero. In other European Countries, the blame has been directed to modernization. The echo of this accusation was received by the late pontiff, His Holiness, Pope John Paul the II. May his soul rest in peace. Before the worsening of his health condition, he called the attention of the Spanish people, in general. He called on the social Government, in particular. This was a clarion call for them not to drift away from their Christian roots. The representative of Saint Peter, on earth, was right in his point of view and call. The Holy Sage received the right answer to this spiritual problem. In the first place, who are the members of Government? Most of them are baptized and confirmed Christians of the Catholic Church. In Spain, as well as in most European countries, one of the most important things that most parents do for their children is have them baptized at a tender age. This means that almost all the children are born Christians. Therefore, the cause of the fall in religion should be found within the church itself. It is in charge of the teaching and transmission of faith, through its priests. After the baptism of a child, it is necessary for the church and the parents to do a follow-up. As it could be seen, the newly baptized children are not properly followed up. If the parents, themselves, don't go to church, how will their progeny go? Finally, baptism has become a mere formality. When a sports team doesn't do well, the person who made the errors is to blame. Before the players, it is the coach's responsibility. In this case, it is the church. Therefore, it is the blame of the church that I am going to prove, within the successive line of this book. My earnest appeal is to the readers to open their minds, hearts and consciences, so they may understand the contents of this spiritual essay. It is all about faith in God and an issue of maximum importance. This is given that the content of anybody's character, in all aspects of life, majorly depends on their spiritual or moral state. Perhaps more clearly, it especially depends on the state of their vertical relationship with the great beyond. This is my point of view, no matter what anyone thinks.
