About the Author: Born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Annette Petrick had her first story published, at the age of seven. From then on, she considered wordsmithing her God-given gift, which she was expected to use. She and her husband raised three children in New Jersey. Later, she moved to the Washington, DC area, ultimately heading a national trade association. This led to a career as a nationally recognized public speaker and consultant. When she moved to the rural Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Annette became a pioneer digital entrepreneur. Hers was one of the first companies to create a collaborating staff in various locations, all connected by the Internet. Now a resident of Woodstock, VA for more than 25 years, Annette is an advocate for seniors and aging in place. She and her third husband, William, are active in the Rotary Club, where she has served as president, and in the Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce.
