About the Book

God is upset with The United States of America. From a terrorist attack that destroys downtown Pittsburgh to a massive earthquake that brings the San Francisco area to its knees, God is showing his displeasure with the nation for turning away from Him. One last hope to salvage the nation still exists. God chooses a small town preacher, Pastor Wes Barclay, in eastern Tennessee to issue a stern warning to the nation. The United States must either turn back to the faith and principles upon which the nation was founded or face the continued wrath of His judgment. To accomplish this daunting task, Pastor Barclay must have all true believers relocate to seven southeastern states and begin the nation anew as The Christian States of America. Follow the pastor and his fellow believers as they struggle against all odds to obey the will of God in a rapidly growing ungodly nation. Watch their faith grow as God stands by them as they obey His will. This novel will make some angry and some sad but it will not leave anyone bored or fail to make them challenge their beliefs. The mind's eye of the reader comes alive with every scenario. Although this is a work of fiction, all the Bible quotations, government edicts and issues are factual. Hopefully readers will recognize that our nation really is in trouble and the trouble is largely the result of Americans turning away from their Christian heritage and the Word of God. The authors are imminently qualified to write about the Christian Faith and the state of Christian churches in America. The Reverend W.E. Brooks has been an ordained minister in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for forty years and has pastored churches throughout the southeast. John Keener, II, graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism and has served as both an Elder and Deacon in several Evangelical Churches over the last three decades.
About the Author: The Reverend W. E. Brooks is imminently qualified to write about the Christian Faith and the state of Christian churches in America. He has been an ordained minister in the Cumberland Presbyterian for forty years and has pastored churches throughout the southeastern United States. He graduated from Tusculum College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and Religion and received a Masters of Divinity Degree from Memphis Theological Seminary. Besides his many pastorates, he has also served in various offices at all levels of his denominational church. Until now, his literary offerings have been limited to sermons, study material, and devotional writings. In The Christian States of America, his first foray into the world of Christian fiction, Reverend Brooks with his associate John Keener, II balance a rigorous patriotism with a strong commitment to the religious heritage of America to produce a riveting story about the decline of Biblical Christianity in this nation. John Keener, II graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism. He has worked in the newspaper, publishing and marketing fields and currently owns a graphics and marketing business. He has served as an Elder and Deacon in several churches. He has written several novels and short stories one of which, Betsy's Best Christmas, won second place in The Times-Courier short story contest.
