About the Book

The Bible is under attack not only from non-believers and members of other faiths and of none, but from the church itself. Yet it is our instruction book, written by the prophets under the inspiration of God the Holy Spirit and should be taken seriously as God's truth to mankind. It is how people acknowledge God that matters. If we accept Him as the Supreme Being who created all that is and is the source of all power and love, then we will accept what has been written in His name as sacrosanct and not attempt to change the meaning of any part of that word to suit the social way of life of any one generation, as many are trying to doThe centrality of the Lord Jesus Christ is vital to our understanding of the Bible because He is mention throughout the whole of our Bible, from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation and therefore He is the central theme of scripture in both the Judeo and Christian sections of the Bible. Our relationship with God depends totally on our understanding and acceptance of scripture, from the way in which God sought to teach the Hebrew nation in the First Testament, to the teaching and sacrifice of Jesus in the Second Testament. What we must not do is to alter any wording in the Bible to suit our own situation; rather we need to change our way of life to fit in with God's will, not the other way around.Unless we are prepared to spend time studying the scriptures then we will have no idea of what God is seeking to teach us through the prophets or through the achievements of His Son. The study of the arrival and life of the Saviour along with His death, resurrection and ascension is very illuminating and has transformed many a life. This book, Christ IS King, is one such study that seeks to understand, using both testaments, the spiritual aspect of what Jesus Christ came to do and ultimately achieve in providing salvation to all those prepared to fully believe and commit themselves to the Saviour. Written by a professional technical author whose task was to write often-comprehensive documents with clarity, this work is written in plain language that will enable all to understand deep truths.
About the Author: After an electrical engineering apprenticeship in the Royal Navy, Peter went on to serve on a number of ships in different parts of the world, finally being responsible for the weapons maintenance department of a frigate and lecturing to trainee officers on weapon systems. He also spent two years at the Royal Navy's training college in Fareham, Hampshire instructing on underwater weapon and defence systems. Leaving the service at 30 in 1969, Peter worked as a quality engineer for the British Aircraft Corporation at Filton, Bristol on spacecraft and guided weapon systems before moving to R. A Lister (Diesels) where he became a technical author in 1984. He then worked as a contract author, mostly in the nuclear industry, writing instructional and training documentation before finally retiring in 2011. Peter gained membership of the Society of Authors in 1993 For over 20 years, Peter was a Methodist Local Preacher before becoming an official prison visitor on January 1st 1990 and from 1994 worshipping with his wife at the prison he visits in order to focus on supporting prisoners who wanted to change their lives around. After retiring from that work in 2016 he and his wife still worship at the prison and still supports a number of released prisoners. Peter met a Jew named Derek who had become a Christian in prison. On his release to the local community, Peter was able to help him adjust to a new life of going straight. It was Derek who first asked Peter to write on scripture in 2002, after which Derek's brother Aaron, a rabbi serving in the USA, came under the influence of Peter's writing and became a Christian. Aaron asked him to write first on the book of Revelation and then on the subject of Moses' Tent of the Meeting, which he self-published early 2011. He currently has 18 books on Amazon for downloading to an eBook reader or as a paperback. Peter was married in December 1961 and has three sons and six grandchildren. His autobiographical book explaining how he came to write his books is called "A Tale of Three Men".
