Essay aus dem Jahr 1998 im Fachbereich Orientalistik / Sinologie - Chinesisch / China, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ein grundlegender politischer Leitgedanke Chinas war stets die Schaffung und Bewahrung des Einheitsstaates, und zwar bei den meisten der diversen Reichsbildungen auf dem Boden des Reichs der Mitte, gleich ob sie nach- oder nebeneinander existierten. Dies bildet eine wesentliche Grundlage für den chinesischen Anspruch, dass Tibet ein Teil Chinas sei. Der Blick dabei ist rückwärtsgewandt, der Anspruch fußt in der Geschichte. Das selbe trifft für den (exil-) tibetischen Anspruch auf Unabhängigkeit zu, der eben diese Geschichte als Zeugin für die Selbständigkeit aufruft. Die Diskussion darüber, ob, wann und wie Tibet zu China gehört habe oder nicht, verschließt dagegen die Augen vor unserem heutigen Anspruch, dass die Zugehörigkeit zu Staaten nicht mehr (allein) auf Geschichtsbetrachtungen basieren sollte. Dennoch bleibt zu sagen, dass vielen Streitpunkten zwischen dem Westen und Osten völlig unterschiedliche Staatsauffassungen zugrunde liegen, die sich im Wesentlichen am Unterschied zwischen National- und Nationalitätenstaat festmachen lassen. Das Phänomen divergierender Kräfte ist als eine alte Konstante in der historischen Entwicklung des Reichs der Mitte anzusehen, und so birgt jede Tendenz zur "Abnabelung" Ansätze zur neuerlichen Zersplitterung Chinas. Dies macht die Herrschenden so empfindlich bei nationalistischen Fragen. Die Frage aber, wie China in der Vergangenheit seine Identität als Vielvölkerreich gefunden hat, wird in unserer Öffentlichkeit nicht gestellt. Chinas Versuche, eine solche Identität als multiethnisches Land zu bewahren, werden daher häufig als imperialistische Expansionsbestrebungen gedeutet. Die unterschiedlichen Staatsauffassungen in China (sowie in Tibet) und im Westen bedürfen der Erläuterung, um statt dem fehlenden gegenseitigen Verständnis für ihre einst völlig gegensätzlichen Staatskonzepte ein Überdenken verhärteter Posit
About the Author: From 2004 to 2012 Andreas Gruschke was a postdoc researcher at the Collaborative Research Centre SFB 586 "Difference and Integration", affiliated to the University of Leipzig and to the Helmholtz-Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ. He earned a doctorate in Development Geography at the University of Leipzig (2009). He worked as a scientific employee at the Oriental Institute of Leipzig University with expertise in social geography, development geography, anthropology and Sinotibetan studies. His research fields include: social and cultural geography of China and Tibet, socio-economic transformations and livelihood security of nomadic societies under conditions of social, political and ecological change, vulnerability and livelihood security of rural areas in Western China, sustainable development and assessment of political interventions in rangeland areas. At present, Andreas Gruschke is an affiliated guest professor at Sichuan University, working at the Institute of Social Development & Western China Development Studies in Chengdu, China.
