About the Book

The Christmas Story for children told creatively in this book "tells" readers about the birth of Jesus. This lovely picture book created by distinguished author Cheryl L. Bradley, depicts the nativity scene and tells the events of Jesus' birth uniquely illustrated. This creative book will encourage young readers as well as their parents to participate and appreciate the beautiful words and photographed handiwork, prepared by the author herself, that convey the "good news". A heartwarming and endearing holiday picture book for anyone, from toddler to 94, by the gaining popularity of bestselling author of "Haden: The Littlest Bear", "Heather's Pets" and "Good Morning Sun Shine".
About the Author: Christian author, Cheryl Bradley, is an author of fiction and non-fiction works. A Virginia native, Cheryl was very artistic at a young age and created all sorts of poems, short stories, sculptures, and artwork. Before attending Clover Hill High School in 1982, she was already an avid oil and acrylic painter and enjoyed dabbling in soft pastel and charcoal sketching. In addition, she was zealous about her old box camera and preferred the medium of black and white photography. Her love of photography continues today and is shared by her mother, Sharon Ward, and together they are credited for many of the photos shared with her avid readers. Married in 1986 to her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Rose, she drifted away from writing and painting in exchange for roles as wife, mother and domestic engineer. Marriage moved her away from Midlothian to Paint Bank. In 1988, they returned and she began her career in banking which continued until 1996 when the decision was made to return to Paint Bank, where full-time parenthood, part-time employment, and support of Kenneth's career became Cheryl's major aspire. As his career flourished, travel opportunities abounded, and their marriage of 25 years ended. On Good Friday, 2014, Cheryl and her best friend, Jimmy Bradley, were married. She and Jimmy lived with 2 "house dwelling" dogs, and 6 "do what they want to do" cats, in a lovely little brick house on the north side of Potts Mountain next to the Bradley Farm where they raised chickens, tended cattle, repaired fence and managed hay fields. Circumstances and situations resulted in reawakening a sleeping passion of writing which became a powerful, creative outlet during the times her husband rested, or slept. In the final months of 2017, after the loss of her best friend, life's continual propulsion thrust Cheryl in the shadows of her beloved mountains where she resides today, near her daughter, in Radford. Her familial milieu eclectic and diverse, her younger siblings have both achieved major accomplishments in their own rights, her father, John R. Ward, a former evangelist and retired pastor of Evangel Assembly of God in Richmond; his father renowned evangelist, pastor, and author, William A. Ward. Much of her childhood was spent with her maternal grandparent's, Robert and Dorothy Dalrymple; both attended Washington State University.
