About the Book

The Chez Teresa Recipe Book features detailed recipes of some of the delicious sweet treats and savory dishes that we serve in our tea room Chez Teresa/A Taste d'Angleterre in the Loire Valley in the West of France. Located next door to the ancient abbey of Fontevraud where Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, Henry II and their son Richard the Lionheart are buried, we have customers visit us from around the globe many of whom ask for our sweet bake recipes such as 'John Blair's Fruity Apple and Fig pudding', 'The Most decadent Chocolate Cake in the world' and other recipes from sweet scones and the ubiquitous Queen Victoria Sponge - known to our French customers as Le gâteau de préférence de la reine Victoria - to traditional French recipes such as Tarte Tatin and and its origins to Ratatouille. The Chez Teresa Recipe Book also includes ideas for creating the perfect ambiance for a successful afternoon tea party - from place settings - to music - to floral displays. Blending this with information about the fabulous local markets of the Loire Valley with all its wealth of fresh regional produce, the author has produced a book containing favorite tried and tested recipes whilst also offering a snapshot of the history and gastronomy of the locale within a touristic context. Now winner of a Special Award designated by the International Gourmand Awards 2018, The Chez Teresa Recipe book will be of interest to anyone who enjoys sweet treats and nourishing dishes savory and sweet. It might also hold appeal for those wishing to discover nuggets of information about some of the culinary and historical delights and traditions of the Loire Valley viz la jardin de la France. http: //www.cookbookfair.com/index.php/gourmand-awards/winners-2018 For more recipes and features about Teresa's life in Loire, check out www.lettersandlunchesfromtheloire.com
