About the Book

Unter Demulgierung versteht man die Aufspaltung einer Rohölemulsion in Öl- und Wasserphasen. Aus verfahrenstechnischer Sicht ist der Ölproduzent an drei Aspekten der Demulgierung interessiert: Die Geschwindigkeit, mit der diese Trennung erfolgt, die Menge des nach der Trennung im Rohöl verbliebenen Wassers und die Qualität des abgetrennten Wassers für die Entsorgung. Eine schnelle Abtrennungsrate, ein niedriger Restwassergehalt im Rohöl und ein niedriger Ölgehalt im Entsorgungswasser sind natürlich wünschenswert. Das geförderte Öl muss im Allgemeinen den Spezifikationen des Unternehmens und der Pipeline entsprechen. Ölfeldemulsionen weisen eine gewisse kinetische Stabilität auf. Diese Stabilität ergibt sich aus der Bildung von Grenzflächenfilmen, die die Wassertröpfchen einkapseln. Um die Emulsion in Öl und Wasser zu trennen, muss der Grenzflächenfilm zerstört und die Tröpfchen zur Koaleszenz gebracht werden. Die Destabilisierung oder das Aufbrechen von Emulsionen ist daher direkt mit der Entfernung dieses Grenzflächenfilms verbunden. Die Faktoren, die das Brechen von Emulsionen fördern oder beschleunigen, sind: Temperatur, Rühren oder Scherung, Entfernung von Feststoffen, Verweilzeit, Kontrolle der Emulgatoren und Nachrüstung. Die Demulgierung, die Trennung einer Emulsion in ihre Bestandteile, ist ein zweistufiger Prozess.
