About the Book

Yves Tricard vit une paisible entre son métier de comptable et ses périodes de chômage. Les périodes d'inactivité le stress, la peur de la pauvreté lui enserre la gorge. C'est pour cela qu'il accepte n'importe quel travail. Il habite Dole, il accepte de se déplacer pour gagner sa vie. L'ancienne capitale de la Franche-Comté n'est plus qu'une petite ville provinciale.
En ce moment, il travaille chez Carrefour à Dijon, il assure la comptabilité de l'hypermarché de la Toison d'Or. Le TER et le tramway, matin et soir, trois heures de trajet, on doit aimer son travail. Avant d'emprunter le tramway, il boit un café au café de la gare. Le tramway le matin, c'est une boite à sardines, c'est un Sauna. Il sue comme un boeuf. Ce tramway n'est pas le tramway nommé désir, et je ne suis pas Ernest Hemingway.
Il vit un une relation avec Cynthia, une boutiquière, il l'appelle ainsi, elle recompte et recompte sa caisse chaque soir. Il aime l'argent et le commerce. Toujours gagner est son leitmotiv.
Il reconnait un amour passionné pour ses fesses. Le restaurant avec Cynthia le week-end, après il s'occupe de son postérieur sous un porche, ou dans la forêt. Parfois, un bar, où il boit plus que la raison le voudrait, à moins qu'il passe la nuit avec elle. Une bière ou ses fesses, il doit choisir. En hiver, entre la chambre et les bois, l'hésitation ne tient pas la route.

Sa vie s'écoule comme un fleuve tranquille dont le cours ne rencontre jamais d'écueil, il ne lui viendrait pas à l'idée de sortir de son lit. Un jour, tout change, une lettre d'un notaire lui annonce qu'il a hérité d'un oncle dont il ignorait son existence.
Son père est mort au cours des premières années de sa vie. Sa mère l'a gommé, et n'en parle jamais. Il a grandi avec un fantôme, il savait qu'il a existé, il ignore tout de lui, sa famille a disparu et n'a pas montré le moindre intérêt pour lui. Cet oncle qui sort du néant le laisse perplexe. Il était au courant qu'il avait un neveu, il a vécu sans se soucier de son sort. Les familles ne sont plus ce qu'elles étaient.

Devant le notaire, il découvre qu'il a hérité d'un domaine viticole, d'un château et d'un manège de chevaux. La description donnée par le notaire n'engendre aucun doute, Il est devenu riche. Il ne sera plus jamais comptable. Adieu, tramway, TER, la bourgogne et la Franche-Comté. Ses biens sont situés dans le bordelais.
En arrivant au château, il découvre, qu'une personne est présente, tout le monde en parle en la craignant, elle s'appelle Agathe. il a beau cherché, il ne voit personne. Les on-dit lui ont appris qu'elle aurait plus de deux cents ans. Il est probable que ce soit un fantôme. Un château a toujours son fantôme, même si on ne réside pas en Ecosse. Il préfère le bordelais aux brumes d'Edimbourg.

Cynthia est là, elle s'accroche, il y a des sous, elle aime l'argent et Yves en pince pour ses fesses.

Il est devant une énigme, il n'est pas au fait de la personnalité de son oncle, sa mère reste vague, elle l'a rencontré, elle est resté dans la cour, il semblait apeuré en regardant le château. Il a rendu à sa tante, une vieille femme fantasque, la soeur de son oncle. Elle a refusé l'héritage.
