About the Author: Paul Wrede (1948) studierte an der Freien Universit t Berlin Molekularbiologie, Genetik und Evolutionsbiologie. Mehrere Arbeiten zur molekularen Phylogenie erfolgten am Max-Planck-Institut f r Molekulare Genetik, Berlin, sowie am Massachusetts Institute of Technology und an den Universit ten Heidelberg, FU Berlin und Charit Berlin. Seit 1990 leitet er die Gruppe Bioinformatik an der Charit und arbeitet speziell an simulierten Evolutionssystemen f r die Entwicklung medizinisch relevanter Strukturen. Seit kurzem geh rt der Bereich der Modellierung der kologie von Mikroorganismen in der Tierern hrung zum bioinformatischen Arbeitsfeld.

Saskia Wrede (1979) studierte Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Psychologie, Soziologie und Biologie an der Freien Universit t Berlin und schloss das Studium ab mit einer Arbeit zur Bedeutung der Evolutionstheorie in Werken von Wilhelm Raabe.
