Woody Allen once said, "If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans." That infers that God is laughing at us and that is not something most will find believable. It is probably not too surprising to note that the experiences one has in life can have a profound impact on the direction or plan that life takes. Often, these experiences are coupled with a comedic touch or twist that influences the direction taken. Taken as a whole, the impact becomes a meandering revision of the direction a life is taking even though it may not be recognized at the time it happens. The tales in this book are some of the experiences that impacted the author and some that likely did not. Not all of the stories here are direct experiences but are nevertheless influential. Some of the stories are interesting, some are funny and some are weird. These tales are a continuation of experiences following the ones described in "More Than Big Trouble" published in 2017. The author and his brother have shared these tales verbally over the years and thought it was time to commit them to print for posterity.
About the Author: Don Piatt Koch was born June 30 1939 in Washington DC. He grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Bellmawr, New Jersey. After graduating from Haddon Heights High School in 1957, he served a three-year enlistment in the U. S. Marine Corps where he began extensive use of cameras, though not as part of his service duties. Following his tour with the Marines, he became a casualty insurance underwriter and later, underwriting manager. In 1968 he moved to Juneau, Alaska where he still resides. In 1969 he accepted a position with the Alaska Division of Insurance as Chief of Market Surveillance. When not working on behalf of the State, Don was a part time commercial photographer. Don married Mie Nakano of Tokyo, Japan in 1977 and they have three children and two grandchildren. He retired from state government in 1997. Don then formed a consulting firm that offers consulting and examination services to state governments. Initial assignments were on behalf of the State of Delaware and that proved to be a mean commute. He is still active in that field today. Don has been an avid reader of science fiction since high school and had wanted to write in that genre for some time. He has six science fiction novels in print and two nonfiction books all available on Amazon or Kindle. His first novel was published in late 2015. The first of his two nonfiction books cover experiences from about 1942 until his enlistment in the Marine Corps was completed in 1960. This book, the second in this series covers experiences from 1960 until 1976 including his move to Alaska. A third book anticipated in this series will continue where this book leaves off with tales from 1977 to date.
