About the Book
The dilemma Abe experienced was existential as to live with Grace, he had to remain a celibate. Abe wanted to embrace Grace, his beloved to express his love for her, but Grace had asked him not to touch her intentionally, even though he sensed, she loved him deeply. Abe could not live without hugging and kissing Grace. Nonetheless, he decided to respect her wish, and the predicament tore him apart. On his way to Mumbai to join a bank as the head of its AI centre, Abe thought of spending a few days in Goa, In one of the bus stations in Goa, Abe met Grace, a sparkling young person, and she invited him to stay in her place knowing that Abe had lost his luggage, money and had no place to spend the night. Abe went with Grace. She was staying alone in a one-room shack, and there was only one bed. Grace asked him to sleep by her side, provided he should not touch her intentionally. Abe agreed. On the next day morning, Abe told Grace, his intention to work with her for three days, to make sufficient money for his bus tickets to Mumbai. After three days, Abe expressed his desire to stay back with Grace and work with her in the fish market, where she had been working, which Abe found more enriching than working in an international bank. He never asked Grace, who she was and, Grace too never inquired anything about Abe. Abe gradually fell in love with Grace, and he sensed that she was in love with him. They worked together for their livelihood every day. Shopping, cooking their food, eating together, cleaning the house, playing chess, singing Hindi film songs in the evening hours after dinner, they spent their days in total happiness. Abe and Grace went out for picnics and visited restaurants, and shared their warmth, nonetheless, never touching each other. Abe painted a couple of portraits of Grace, which he presented to her, and Grace treasured them. As the life he experienced with Grace was ethereally beautiful and idyllic, Abe wanted to live with Grace forever, as he thought that they were inseparable. After many months, on a morning, Grace left him, never telling him where she was going, and what she was going to do. And Abe was left alone, and he felt devastated. Desolate and depressed, Abe travelled to Pune and joined the Society of Jesus and became a Jesuit. But Grace had always been in his heart. Soon, he left the Jesuits and went all over India in search of Grace. After some years, in a temple, Abe met Emma from the Netherlands, who was researching on the naked Hindu monks, who were celibates. Emma introduced Abe to a naked Hindu monk, who loved speaking of the joys of sex. Abe painted a portrait of the monk, which became an internationally renowned work. The monk's influence on Abe was profound. Emma liked the company of Abe, and they toured together many places. Nevertheless, Abe refrained himself from touching Emma even though he loved her much. When on an exhibition of his paintings in a hotel in Mumbai, Abe met Grace unexpectedly. The encounter was devastating, and soon, Abe left everything and disappeared. Emma, who adored Abe could not find him anywhere, but she searched for him throughout India for twenty years. One day, during the Kumbh Mela at Prayag, Emma saw someone like Abe leading a group of naked monks. Emma ran after him, overtaking him, she stood in front of him, stretching her hands. The naked monk was smeared with ash and had a Rudraksha string, which extended up to his navel. There was a snake around his neck. Then Emma looked at his face and suddenly realised that he was none other than her beloved Abe.
