About the Book

"Celebrating Christmas" is chocked fuller than a hefty Christmas stocking! It's a collection of submissions from 45 people who have strong feelings about Christmas and who wanted to pass along in stories, poems, thoughts, and more, what is packed into their understanding of Christmas. Is Christmas a time to rush and prepare surprises? There are a couple approaches from writers on that. Is is when a romance can get more serious? Hmm. Who would have thought so? Ah, a few factual and fanciful stories have that waiting for readers. Why, there are even Christmas morning recipes, Christmas Eve favorites, and a dessert that's won first place so many years in a row that the man who made it was told to fix something else the next year! Writings appear from a couple gals who know Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a drama, so if you're on that committee, have a look. An author of over 3,000 children's stories wrote a couple stories the young will want to hear. There's even an essay that helps draw the line in the sand about fruitcake so decide which side you'll risk your palate upon. It's easy to say that Christmas is supposed to be filled with joy, and thankfully, for many it is most of their lives. For others, though, their situation changes, and there's even a quiet solemnity to Christmas. Our world has heartaches and almost all of us will face some during our lifetime; more than one writer wrote because Christmas can bring mixed emotions. Or perhaps it's that first Christmas away from home. If music speaks to your soul, or Biblical accounts of the first Christmas always interest you, these writers would agree that Christmas was God's idea before others even knew what was happening. Several wrote to be sure none of us forget how much God loves us, even to this day. After all, wasn't God proving that when Jesus came to earth that night in Bethlehem? Mostly, though, this Christmas collection comes to readers with prayers that something within it will be just the perfect submission for each one who receives the book.
About the Author: Author/speaker Margery Kisby Warder enjoys both writing and helping other writers prepare their thoughts to write for wider audiences. Her idea of compiling a book focused on Christmas struck a chord with several others, including those she's met through the writers' retreat she and her husband hosted, workshops she's led, and through writers conferences and meetings. She enjoys working with those bravely stepping out to craft their first work for publication and thanks the established authors who supported this project with submissions and promotion through their readers. Margery taught school before working as a columnist and features writer for newspapers. She has a variety of books published, including two historical novels. Most of her stories tend to include Christmas, sometimes when it's turning point for a character, which might partly explain why this project became a labor of love, too.
