About the Book

This is the record of one patient's dozen years of being treated for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) by Dr. Joseph Brewer of Kansas City, MO. Circa 2013, using a newly developed medical test, Dr. Brewer and two other independent CFS doctors tested their patients for toxic mold infection. In all three medical practices, the positivity rate for this specific infection was approximately 90%. By 2016, in Dr. Brewer's practice alone, over 500 of his CFS, fibromyalgia and chronic Lyme disease patients had tested positive for toxic mold infection. Additionally, in late 2017, Dr. Brewer discovered that Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) can play a major role in CFS, and for which he has also treated his patients. Along with co-infections - like reactivated HHV-6 and EBV viruses - Dr. Brewer has painted a more complete picture of the illnesses of CFS, fibromyalgia and chronic Lyme disease than has previously been understood. This record, as presented, is mostly in Dr. Brewer's own words.

At this point, some may ask: Why hasn't Dr. Brewer's work gotten more national attention? Dr. Brewer has published four papers on his work, all of which were observational studies. However, based on a conversation with one science writer, the problem is that Dr. Brewer doesn't have a case-controlled study backing up his work. Dr. Brewer's response to that was to say that nobody has wanted to fund such a study. Still, many prominent CFS specialists over the past 12 years have adopted Dr. Brewer's work with toxic mold into their own medical practices, and many of those doctors are named in the book. One of those CFS specialists, in an interview in late 2014, said that it wasn't until he had begun testing and treating his CFS, fibromyalgia and chronic Lyme disease patients for toxic mold that he began to see those patients make progress and get better.

Then some may think: But I wasn't exposed to toxic mold. Mold experts say that in buildings, 50% of all mold is not visible. Also, any toxic mold exposure doesn't need to be right before your illness, but it could have happened years earlier, with its toxicity only triggered later by a new event, such as a viral infection. Over the last dozen years, with an improved toxic mold test, virtually all of Dr. Brewer's CFS patients have tested positive for toxic mold. And medical research over the last 50 years have shown the symptoms of toxic mold match up perfectly with the symptoms of CFS patients So statistically, if you have CFS, you have toxic mold inside you. But the good news is, it is treatable! In this book, Dr. Brewer makes his case many times over as to how big a player toxic mold is in CFS, fibromyalgia and chronic Lyme disease.

Back in June 2013, Dr. Brewer said the finding of toxic mold in his patients was the most amazing thing he'd ever come across in doing CFS for almost 30 years. This quickly led to Dr. Brewer's groundbreaking treatment of his patients with traditional antifungal drugs. In June 2014, Dr. Brewer said he was on the right track with his treatment of CFS because he had seen over 100 of his patients improve, with some of those patients having returned to normal health - something nobody had ever seen with CFS. Then, in 2017, Dr. Brewer also became convinced that nearly all of his patients had MCAS, and the treatment for that is also discussed in the book.

The book fully discusses the symptoms of toxic mold infection; how toxic mold causes most of the problems seen in CFS; how to find a toxic mold specialist; and where to get tested for toxic mold.

Finally, people like to read reviews of books before they buy them. However, if someone buys this book and then follows Dr. Brewer's testing and treatment guidelines for toxic mold, unfortunately it will probably be a minimum of a year before they see real results. At that point, I'm not sure who would think to go back and give a review of this book. But hopefully someone wi
