About the Book

Caught up is an urban fiction novel about a woman name Shay who is in love with her best friend's, Rhonda, husband whose name is Tank. However, Tank constantly lets Shay know that he does not want her, he is in love with his wife, and the only reason he comes to see Shay is because she has a three year old son by him. Shay really don't know who her son's biological father is because she also has been involved in an intimate relationship with the twin brother of the guy Tank had killed three years earlier. The interesting part is that no one knew that there was a twin brother but Shay. Everyone else is confused wondering if the twin brother that is supposed to be dead, really dead or not. Things come full circle when Shay comes up with a plan that involves taking Tank down, using her son as bait to get next to Tank. The goal of the plan is to make Tank suffer for all he has done to Shay over the years and to avenge the twin's brothers' death, provided that the twin is actually dead.
About the Author: Tempest Monaye, born Santana Felder on November 16, 1989 in McComb, Ms, is a young African American mother of two beautiful children ages 5 and 9 months. She is a newly published author with her first book being called Caught Up. Writing has been one of her biggest passions since high school. She knew she loved to write but did not know just how good she was until her twelfth grade English teacher Mrs. Elizabeth Brown informed her of how well she writes, after doing a compare and contrast essay on Beowulf and Spiderman. She attended high school at South Pike Senior High where she graduated with honors. Also, during her high school years, Tempest was involved in several plays that she helped to create, dealing with the TACA (Teens Against Chemical Abuse) club that she was in at the time. She and her club members would go to Jackson, MS at the different conventions and act out the plays they'd written in front of multiple people, competing against other schools, and put on shows at her high school. After high school Tempest attended college at The University of Southern Mississippi, in Hattiesburg, MS, where she received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology. During her time in college she continued to write little stories or novels here and there. A couple of months into her senior year she found out she was pregnant. The following year on July 20, 2012, she gave birth to her first child, a handsome baby boy. During and after college, she worked first as a housekeeper in the environmental services department at Forrest General Hospital, in Hattiesburg. After about a year she was promoted to become the group leader of third shift. She worked at the hospital for about two and a half years before accepting a job at The Mississippi Adolescent Center where she was first an active treatment technician, working with children with intellectual developmental disorders like Autism and ADHD. Shortly after starting her new job she found out once again that she was pregnant. On November 03, 2016, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. During her pregnancy she was promoted to become a Behavior Health Technician. Though she had multiple things going on in her life Tempest was determined to find something that made her truly happy outside of her children. Writing was that something. Tempest then finished her first urban fiction novel that she had been working on for three and a half years. Giving all thanks to God and her children, she hopes to become a best seller.
