"Cartas de Isaías" é o segundo livro dos três que compõem o romance "A revoada dos elefantes". O texto foi escrito inicialmente como um projeto a ser desenvolvido na oficina de romance conduzida pelo escritor Luiz Antônio de Assis Brasil, na década de noventa do século XX, como parte do programa de extensão em Literatura Brasileira da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Porto Alegre. A Revoada dos elefantes é pois o resultado de um texto experimental, que foi publicado da integra em 2013, composto de três atos enunciativos: Edita-me ou te devoro, Cartas de Isaias e O sexo sentido. A trama de A revoada dos elefantes se passa no Brasil, entre Porto Alegre, São Paulo e a praia do Rosa em Santa Catarina, onde dois intelectuais de meia idade, um homem e uma mulher, se reencontram ao cruzar com um adolescente naïf de classe média que tornar-se-á, ele mesmo, em escritor - em decorrência do impacto que este encontro terá em sua vida. Ao primeiro livro Edita-me ou te devoro2, cabe a autoria fictícia de Tulio Armachand Botelho. O narrador personagem relata a história do relacionamento da escritora Holda Archanjo com o seu editor Isaías Cruz, acompanhando a tentativa que ele faz de comunicar-se com ela durante o último carnaval do milênio. O segundo livro, Cartas de Isaías traz correspondências e apontamentos trocados entre Isaías Cruz e Holda Archanjo e organizados em um volume por Isaías. A coletânea desses escritos teçe uma crônica epistolar do horizonte apreciativo da sociedade brasileira no bote de iniciar o século XXI. O terceiro livro O sexo sentido, apresenta um texto escrito por Holda Archanjo no qual a escritora articula a sua perspectiva do seu encontro com Isaías e Tulio, na praia do Rosa, durante o último carnaval do século passado. Livro aliás, que encarna o livro demo, objeto da polémica levantada em Edita-me ou te devoro. As cartas de Isaias são baseadas em correspondências reais mantidas pelo autor com amigos e amantes, bem como em notas, resenhas e críticas de arte direcionadas a intelectuais, jornais e ou revistas. A sua aparente desarticulação com a parte primeira e a parte última de A revoada dos elefantes é proposital, no sentido de estabelecer um diálogo aberto entre gêneros literários híbridos que permitam ao leitor articular, mesmo de fora da narrativa linear, o sentido temporo-espacial, ideológico e subjetivo da enunciação. Ao planejar a estrutura narrativa de A revoada dos elefantes tive em mente o experimento de dar um passo à frente ao salto de qualidade que o texto Les Lauriers sont Coupés de Éduard Dujardin possibilitou à escritura literária, ao introduzir o diálogo interior. Meu desafio é inaugurar um diálogo entre os gêneros híbridos que possibilite que a história seja contada fora da estrutura enunciativa linear do romance, ou seja, que na realidade a narrativa seja feita e se revele no dialogo interior articulado na consciência mesma do leitor. Chamo esse recurso, ainda de difícil recepção pelo auditório social ampliado da minha época, de diálogo hibrido genérico ou trans-estutural. A publicação dos três livros em separado atualiza o meu projeto de instalação literária - conferindo materialidade aos três textos como de autoria de um outro: a personagem. Não se trata de três estórias contadas por três narradores, posto que o narrador parece um outro do mesmo; trata-se de três personagens que contam da sua perspectiva um viés da história que vivenciaram. Instauro um ato performativo que confia a Túlio, Holda e Isaías o estatuto e a assinatura de autores, e me ajuda a dar acabamento a esta proposta narrativa nova e necessária. Boa leitura então deste texto creditado a Isaías Cruz, e busque compor a grande história fora da narrativa.
