Tesis Doctoral / Disertación del año 2013 en eltema Química - Bioquímica, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Idioma: Español, Resumen: Esta investigación plantea la síntesis de materiales silíceos mesoestructurados y su modificación con compuestos que contienen grupos amino para la obtención de adsorbentes altamente selectivos al CO2, de manera que se puedan emplear en grandes focos estacionarios emisores de CO2, como las centrales térmicas. Se han usado varios materiales silíceos con diferentes propiedades texturales. Posteriormente se han empleado las técnicas de anclaje, co-condensación e impregnación para la incorporación de grupos funcionales en estos soportes silíceos. Se han obtenido conclusiones relevantes en el estudio de las condiciones de secado de estos adsorbentes, determinando que las etapas de calentamiento de estos sólidos (desgasificación o regeneración) deben ser realizadas en ausencia de aire para evitar la degradación de los compuestos aminados. También se ha estudiado la localización de los grupos amino incorporados y su relación con la eficacia en la captura de CO2 de los adsorbentes. A modo de resumen, la técnica de anclaje incorpora una cantidad considerable de grupos amino altamente accesibles para el CO2, mientras que en la impregnación hay diferencias entre la polietilenimina (PEI) y la tetraetilenpentamina (TEPA) en cuanto a su dispersión en la estructura porosa y a la accesibilidad de sus grupos amino, siendo estos aspectos más interesantes en el TEPA. Se ha desarrollado un procedimiento novedoso de incorporación de grupos amino consistente en la impregnación de sólidos previamente funcionalizados por anclaje. Esta técnica, denominada "doble funcionalización", ha dando lugar a capacidades de adsorción de hasta 235 mg CO2/g ads, con eficacias de 0,45 mol CO2/mol N, muy próximas al máximo teórico.
