La presente edición en castellano de El camino de las imágenes, de Sylvie Lindeperg, constituye un hecho editorial insoslayable para todos aquellos que nos interesamos en la construcción de la historia por el cine. Las "cuatro historias" anunciadas en el subtítulo narran cuatro rodajes de y durante la Segunda Guerra mundial efectuados en 1944: la resistencia de Vercors (cap. 1), el París insurgente (cap. 2), el campo de Terezín en Checoslovaquia (cap. 3) y de Westerbork en los Países Bajos (cap. 4). Linderperg es conocida por su indagación en la relación entre la escritura de la historia y las técnicas digitales. El cuidado de la edición estuvo a cargo de Mariano Veliz y Natalia Taccetta, quien además realzó la traducción del original francés.

Lindeperg es historiadora, miembro del Instituto Universitario de Francia y profesora en la Universidad de París 1 Panteón-Sorbonne. Sus investigaciones encuentran inspiración en autores como Carlo Ginzburg, Michel Baxandall y Daniel Arasse para seguir las huellas de pioneros en el campo específico como Marc Ferro, Michèle Lagny y Pierre Sorlin. Tiene una prolífica obra en torno a la relación entre la historia, el cine y la memoria, principalmente acerca de la Segunda Guerra mundial. Gran parte de su trabajo ha sido realizado en un constante y productivo intercambio con la conocida historiadora Annette Wieviorka y el director Jean-Louis Comolli.
