Un Cafè immaginario, su una piccola isola della Sicilia accoglie le storie dei viandanti che qui si fermano giusto il tempo di riprendere fiato prima di proseguire il proprio viaggio e le storie intime di chi su quell'isola è nato e da li non si sposterà mai o ancora da chi ci torna da fantasma. L'infinita saga mediterranea del partire e del tornare e la semplice magia delle storie narrate, come si raccontano le storie al bar.
Il CD "I Storie o Cafè di lu Furestiero" è stato pubblicato in USA nel 2002 dalla etichetta Californiana Tinder records e in Italia nel 2006.

Bob Salmieri è nato a Roma nel 1958 da famiglia originaria dell'isola di Favignana (TP) ed emigrata in Tunisia all'inizio del '900. Svolge principalmente attività musicale dirigendo i gruppi: Milagro Acustico, Erodoto Project e Bob Salmieri Bastarduna Quintet. Ha pubblicato una ventina di album in Italia e in America. Ha pubblicato cinque libri, ispirati, come le sue musiche, alla cultura del Mediterraneo, alla sua storia e alla sua gente.
Una prima versione delle "storie", è stata pubblicata nel 2005 dalla casa editrice Edizioni Interculturali.

Vezio Paoletti è nato nel 1952. Negli anni '70 vive per lungi periodi a New York, dove ha inizio la sua formazione artistica. A Milano, negli '80, scopre e studia i segreti del bronzo, nelle storiche fonderie: Maf, Cubro, Battaglia. Nel 1999 riceve l'incarico per la realizzazione della porta del Duomo di Bomarzo, inaugurata durante il Giubileo dell'anno 2000. Le sue opere arricchiscono le collezioni private, ecclesiastiche e pubbliche. Vezio vive a Roma e lavora a Roma e Milano.

(...)Poi, arriva la notte profonda, un aedo, un "cuntastorie", un viandante, semplicemente un essere umano (categoria sempre più rara), a ricordarci e a ricordare. Ecco perché le storie di Bob Salmieri sono come il cous cous, che le mamme, le nonne, le mogli, lo cucinano in mille modi differenti, che ci trovi dentro tanti sapori e tanti mondi, tante culture, tanti odori di civiltà più o meno vicine, presenti e passate e, forse, anche future.
Sono lontane le chiacchiere da salotto e le parole forbite. Tra queste pagine non c'è spazio per un tè all'inglese con tanto di pasticcini. Dalle storie di Bob traspirano sangue, sudore e lacrime. C'è l'infanzia perduta, l'adolescenza inquieta. Ci sono i calli delle mani di chi ha passato la vita a lavorare sodo. C'è l'odore acre di un bicchiere con il fondo macchiato di vino o, meglio ancora, dell'ombra dolciastra di un Marsala da pochi spiccioli. E quello dei posacenere strabordanti di cicche spente alla bell'e meglio, lasciate a basculare sul tavolino del Cafè del Forestiero. Perché è lì che si incontra la varia (vera) umanità raccontata da Bob. E' tra quei traballanti tavolini che aleggiano come fantasmi le storie di uomini e di navi, di viaggiatori e di migranti, di prostitute e giovanotti di belle speranze, angeli, demoni e acquesantiere dove aspergere i propri peccati, perdenti di verghiane memorie puntellate di note e solfeggiate dai ricordi che si fanno scrittura.
