About the Author: Dr. John Thanopoulos started his career in business achieving by the age of 26 more than $25,000,000 in sales. Eventually joined the academe from 1992, & became professor of Marketing & International Business at the University of Akron Ohio where he received various awards "Teaching Excellence" (1988), "Distinguished Sales & Marketing" (1994), "Publication" (1997) & "Teaching Innovation" (1997). Named by Editors of Global Survey of the Academy of International Business as 1 of six pioneers of these studies (2000) & by the World Education Congress as "Best Professor in International Business" (2012). Also served to various other positions, including Academic Dean for the American College of Greece & Co-chair of the Executive Committee of the Greater Akron Export Association. Academic contributions include editorships, texts, chapters in books, proceedings, case studies & journal articles like Journal of Economic Integration, Review of Business, Journal of Teaching in International Business, Journal of International Business Studies, The International Trade Journal, Issues in International Business, Kyukyo Economic Review, Arkansas Business & Economic Review, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Health Marketing Quarterly, Current Research in Global Business, etc. In 2000 he joined the University of Piraeus, Business Administration Dept as a professor of international business & since 2010 the graduate program of the Schools of Philosophy University of Athens & the University of Peloponnese teaching workplace ethics. In September 2015 he joined IST as a Professor & Dean of Business & Economics. Recent books (published by Interbooks, Phedimos, Athens, Greece) are in international business (2002, 2006, 2012, & 2013; also 2007 in English), ship management (co-authored 2005) in business ethics (2003, 2009, 2013) & in self-actualization perspectives of the international manager (co-authored, electronic format, 2010). His latest book, Global Business & Corporate Governance, was published in 2014 by BEP, New York. Dr. Panagiotis Petratos PhD EurIng IntPE CEng FIET FBCS FIMA FHEA is alumnus of Harvard University Management and Leadership in Education. Professor of management information systems with Research and teaching experience including Bell Labs, Intel, National Institute for Aviation Research USA, University of California Merced, California State University Stanislaus, University of Piraeus, Athens Institute for Education and Research.
