About the Book

Saptagram, a cluster of seven villages. Since ages the people here have been following a tradition very religiously - Every three years they organize a grand Buffalo-race. Buffalos born in Saptagram only are eligible to participate in the race and the owner of the winning buffalo is announced the Village head for the consecutive three years.

Khirapur and Mirapur villages are part of Saptgram. Lallaram from Khirapur village has been the Village head of Saptagram since last 15 years. The citizens of Saptagram are very unhappy with this because Lallaram is more concerned with filling his treasury than the welfare of Saptagram. Lallaram hates residents of Mirapur and has blocked all development of Mirapur. The reason behind this is Jalaram of Mirapur the ex-village-head. There was no buffalo who could challenge Gullan (Jalaram's buffalo) in race & wrestling. Gullan had always been unbeatable by Bokho (Lallaram's buffalo).

Lallaram had played a very dirty trick. Prior to the race his henchmen had attacked Gullan and he suffered paralytic attack. As a result Bhokho won the race and Lallaram became the Village head.

Now it is Shera (Bokho's son) who rules the race. Sole purpose of Jalaram is to dethrone Lallaram and regain his position as village-head. He knew very well that only Gullan's son could beat Shera. He spends a lot of money, even mortgages his farms to raise funds to procure Gullan's off-springs through the technique of test tube baby, but Lallaram is so cunning. He gets all the off-springs killed. But Jalaram is not the one to give up, not heeding to his wife's (Sitara Devi) objections he goes on procuring Gulllan's off-springs and Lallaram goes on killing them one by one. When a female buffalo is pregnant with Gullan's eighth off-spring he expires and MILTON is born. Milton is the last hope for Jalaram & the citizens of Saptagram. Jalaram secretly sends Milton to his aunt's place in a distant village. He is brought back to Saptagram when he reaches the peak of his youth & a list is being prepared of the buffalos who would be participating in the forthcoming race.

Lallaram is horrified to see Milton. First he tries to prove that Milton is not from Saptagram but when Jalaram produces the birth certificate & other documents he has no choice but to include him in the race.

Citizens of Saptagram are overjoyed to see Milton, a ray of new hope. For them he is like Krishna the eighth son of Devki & Vasudev who would relieve them from the atrocities of Mama Kans like Lallaram.

But Lallaram won't let that happen so easily. He will apply all ordinary and extraordinary tricks and try to get rid of Milton.

You are certainly going to enjoy this comedy thriller novel!
