Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 2,0, Universität Mannheim (Germanistisches Seminar), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Brüderkonflikte oder Bruderhass zählt in der Literatur zu den zentralsten Motiven der verfeindeten Brüder. Dabei ist der ganze Konflikt auf die Gegensätzlichkeit von Brüderschaft und Feindschaft gelegt. Das Thema dieser Arbeit lautet aber nicht nur "Brüderkonflikte in den Dramen des Sturm und Drang", sondern: "Vatermord heißt die eine, Brudermord heißt die andere" (nach Schiller). Analysiert werden dabei "Die Räuber" von Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller und "Die Zwillinge" von Friedrich Maximilian von Klinger. Im ersten Teil der Arbeit erfolgt ein kurzer Überblick über die Familienkonstellation im 18./19. Jahrhundert mit dem Fokus auf männliche Figuren, wobei Männlichkeit in Bezug auf die Gattung (Drama) nach Manfred Pfister erläutert wird, um die spätere Analyse der Verhältnisse innerhalb der Figuren besser zu verstehen. Darüber hinaus erfolgt ein Überblick über das Motiv des Brüderkonfliktes von der Antike bis in den Sturm und Drang, denn das Motiv wird in der Literatur sehr oft und prominent immer wieder aufgenommen, wie etwa in der griechischen Antike (Eteokles und Polyneikes; Amphion und Zethos), in der römischen Antike (Romulus und Remus), im Alten Testament bzw. zu Christi Zeiten (Abel und Kain) und in der neueren Literatur wie etwa Schiller (Die Räuber) und Klinger (Die Zwillinge). Der zweite Teil befasst sich mit dem Drama von Klinger. Nach einer kurzen Einführung in den Text erfolgen zuerst der Vergleich mit biblischen Textstellen und die Loslösung davon, also ob es sich bei Klinger um eine Nachahmung handelt oder ob er eine gattungsspezifische Umänderung durchführt. Nachdem die externen Faktoren, die einen Konflikt auslösen können, untersucht worden sind, erfolgt die psychologische Analyse der Innenperspektive des Protagonisten; ob und inwieweit er krank ist.
