About the Book

Jesus came for the lost, the hurting, the sinner and for those who had been rejected by man. Why is it then that the church is full of wounded people who feel that they have failed God or messed up so badly that there is no return? "Broken" is an inspirational book about how God wants to reach out with arms of grace to the wounded, calling the prodigals home. He also desires to bring full restoration to ministers who have fallen into sin. This book will not only help individuals who have gone through various kinds of failure, but will offer guidance for pastors, church leaders and counselors as they help those who have failed in some area of life, come into a place of hope, thus enabling them to re-engage in the church and dream again.Pastor Darren Farmer shares with incredibly honesty his account of years of success in ministry, personal failure through divorce and his experience of God's full restoration. As you walk with the author through this incredible and insightful journey, you will come face to face with his challenges, fears of failure, and ultimately God's amazing love demonstrated in the restoration of one of His wounded children."I was moved by Pastor Farmer's honesty and humility as he shared the story of his calling, his response to that call and what happened when he took his eyes off God and sought his own will. It is difficult to admit our shortcomings, but when we are able to share our weaknesses with others without fear of shame and judgment, God can move within the church to heal and restore the brokenhearted bringing full joy and fellowship." (Robin Hamilton, LCPC)"I have been very encouraged by reading this book and I know it will help strengthen others who may be going through a desert experience." (Pastor Chris Rouse, Philadelphia Police Chaplain)
About the Author: Pastor Darren Farmer is an inspirational preacher with a desire to see the supernatural power of God restored in the church. Not only does he want to see the sick healed, the demonized set free, the broken restored by the power and life of Jesus, he also wants to see all the gifts restored in the church. Some have called him a "fire starter" and others have called him a "revivalist." However, Darren just wants to see the body of Christ equipped and mobilized and doing the things Jesus did on the streets, in everyday lives. Pastor Darren has been involved in full time, Apostolic ministry, since he started his first church, The Sanctuary, in 1995. Having graduated from The School of Prophets Bible School, in Birmingham, England, Darren has a desire to see the kingdom of God established through a five-fold ministry approach. The five-fold ministry recognizes the different gifts given to the Church (Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Teacher and Evangelist) and activates these gifts of the Spirit in the lives of believers. This causes the believers to find their place resulting in dynamic growth in the church. The Sanctuary quickly grew out of its rented facilities and into an old movie theatre. It was during this time of rapid growth at The Sanctuary that Darren recognized the need to train others. With a desire to see the kingdom expand, a new Bible School was established called "The Apostolic School of Ministry," where many were trained and sent out to do the works of the kingdom. Darren's philosophy is that the doors of the church should remain open. Not just for people coming in but for people being sent out! Through the school, five new churches were established in England, and seven new churches in Nigeria. In 2005, Darren heard the call of God to leave the UK and move to the States to pastor Abundant Life, an established church in Bangor, Maine. Since then, Darren and his wife, Amanda, have established a new church, Deeper Worship Center, in Portland, Maine. They continue to pastor this church and see the presence of God touching lives in new ways every week. Darren continues to travel and minister with a desire to see hearts set on fire and the kingdom released. God is using him to call the church to go "deeper" in worship, in the Word, and in the works of the Holy Spirit. The equipped church, ignited with the fire of the Holy Spirit, can bring revival and change its destiny.
