About the Book

About the Story (Fantasy, Fiction):

"Bread in Arabic: The Lost City of the Jinn" by M.A. Nisubity, Copyright (c) (R) 2023 M.A. Nisubity, All Rights Reserved.

The blue Jinni on the right introduced me to the green Jinn on the left. One served as Vizier to the Pharaoh, it seemed.
"Ahem, yes?" asked the green Jinni.
"Hello? Or rather, Many Greetings Your Majesty," I tried not to insult the Jinn as they levitated. "I am Saladin..."
The blue Jinni picked the Map from my front pocket with his vaporous fingers. He then opened it up and read it.
"Hmm... It says here that this Map belongs to Prince Hordjefra of Lower Waset, it says nothing about Saladin," the blue Jinni said. "Did you steal it?"
"I have this," I showed them the Scepter we found in the tomb, the one with the red crystal bezel of unknown Geological elements.
"The Scepter of Amon-Ka!" the Jinn both gasped in fear as they backed away.
I waved it back and forth. "What's Amon-Ka?"
The blue Jinn slowly descended from the painted ceiling. "You possess the most feared weapon of all time, the Scepter of Amon-Ka. It was thought destroyed long ago in the Jinn Wars. You see, we are Jinn. We appear when summoned and we fulfill obligations to our Masters. If you seek treasures, we can oblige, granting you Infinite Wealth. If you seek good health, we can create an elixir for that. There are items that have the Seraph Crystals on them. It is these crystals that power the relics with Jinn. We are summoned back and forth from the crystals. Now the Scepter of Amon-Ka contains the strongest, most-powerful Jinni of all time: King Aha. Aha once commanded the Army that vanquished the upper realm using the Black Plague. We never summon him, he is that powerful..." the blue Jinn said.
"And that is not all," the green Jinni said. "Each relic is a unique device in and of itself. It can be a weapon, a tool, an elixir, or can control Time itself. Please be careful with the relics! They tether us to the Lost City."
"Indeed," I replied in careful consideration. "Where shall I begin?"
"Here, take this. It is a Ring with a green Seraph Crystal, for the Noble Jinn. Summon it by cleaning the tarnished silver band. The Jinni's name is Mikhail. He will serve you well," the green Jinni told me.
"I thank you, most Noble Jinn," I said.
The Jinn descended back onto their thrones as I wrapped the Scepter with a silken sheathe I found in the Throne room. The Jinn ring fit snuggly on my right third-finger.
On exiting the Lost City I wrapped the entrance with some awning to prevent interlopers. Then I hiked back up the trail through the cave and up the manhole cover. A tethered Camel waited impatiently nearby.
