About the Author: Mr. Tariq Shah is presently working as a research associate in West Virginia University, USA. He completed his Master degree from the Department of Agronomy, University of Agriculture Peshawar, Pakistan. He also visited China for research purpose (8 months). His research work involves plant stress physiology, plant microbe interaction coping with weather adversity and adaptation to climatic variability. He has published over 16 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 14 chapters. He is currently editing a book entitled Plant production in the era of climate change for Springer, Germany. He is a reviewer for more than 10 peer-reviewed international journals and was a recipient of the Elsevier Peer Review Award 2020. He has also organized two national and three international conferences in Pakistan. His ongoing collaboration is with different countries like China, Taiwan, Germany, USA in plant stress physiology. He is also the recipient of different awards from Higher Education Commission.
Dr. Zhang Xue is presently working as a visiting Professor in West Virginia University, USA. He completed his Master degree from the Shandong Agriculture University, Tainan China. Later, he become a Junior Group Leader in the same university. His research work involves plant production in stressful condition, crop adaption to climatic extremes and bioinformatics. He has published over 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 10 chapters. He is currently editing a book entitled Plant production in the era of climate change for Springer, Germany. He is a reviewer for more than 10 peer-reviewed international journals and was a recipient of the Elsevier Peer Review Award 2020. He has also organized seven national and five international conferences in China. He has completed two projects in the field of plant stress physiology which was funded by Chinese Government. He also supervised seven Master and 12 Bachelor students in different areas like plant stress physiology, microbiology, plant nutrition and bioinformatics.
Dr. Sadia Latif is presently working as Research Associate in the Department of Biology & Environmental Science, Faculty of Sciences, Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad, Pakistan. She received her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Plant Sciences, Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan in Molecular Plant Breeding. During her Ph.D., she worked at Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad Pakistan, National Agricultural Research Centre Islamabad Pakistan, University of Florida USA and South Dakota State University USA. Her research work involves molecular breeding under stressful environments and plant microbe interactions. She is teaching different courses like Phycology and Bryology and Cell Biology, Genetics and Evolution. She has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals and few book chapters. She supervised nine Botany and six Microbiology students at Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad, Pakistan. She organized five seminars and conferences at Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad, Pakistan.
Dr. Shabir Hussain Wani Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) cum Scientist, Genetics and Plant Breeding at Mountain Research Centre for Field Crops, Khudwani, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Srinagar J&K, India. He received Ph.D. degree in plant breeding and genetics on transgenic rice for abiotic stress tolerance from the Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana, India. He then joined the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Farm Science Centre) as program coordinator (i/c) at Senapati, Manipur, India. He teaches courses related to plant breeding, seed science and technology, and stress breeding and has published more than 200 papers/chapters in journals and books of international and national repute. He served as guest editor and reviews editor for journal Frontier in Plant Science (2015-2018). He has also edited several books on current topics in crop improvement for abiotic stress tolerance published by Springer Nature and CRC press USA. His Ph.D. research fetched first prize in the North Zone Competition, at national level, in India during 2009. He also received Young Scientist Award (Agriculture) 2015 from Society for Plant Research, Meerut, India. He also served as visiting Scientist at Department of Plant Soil and Microbial Sciences, Michigan State University, USA under the UGC Raman Post Doctoral Fellowship programme during 2016-2017. He was elected as Fellow of Linnean Society of London 2017. Recently he was felicitated with Award for Excellence in Research 2020 from Novel Research Academy, Puducherry, India. Currently, he is in charge of Wheat improvement programme at MRCFC Khudwani SKAUST Kashmir under the ICAR-All India Coordinated Improvement Project on Wheat and Barley.
