Ein Druck auf die Fernbedienung genügte, und die beiden Flügel der Pforte öffneten sich. Als er hindurch war, schlossen sie sich wieder wie durch Geisterhand. Das Tor der Garage öffnete er auf die gleiche Weise. Dann fuhr er hinein und verschloss die Tür von innen. Über eine Tür in der Garage ging er direkt ins Haus.Dieser "geheime" Eingang sowie getönte Scheiben in seinem Auto ermöglichten es ihm, sich Gespielinnen mit nach Hause zu nehmen, ohne das die "biedere" Nachbarschaft dahinter kam. Aber heute war er solo. Heute wollte er in Ruhe über seinen Ausstieg, über den Verkauf seiner Unternehmungen nachdenken. Bulli Bullmann ließ sich ein Entspannungsbad ein. Eine Stunde später setzte er sich vor den Fernseher, aber keines der angebotenen Programme interessierte ihn. So griff er sich ein Glas und eine Flasche Single-Malt-Scotch-Whisky und suchte sein Bett auf, um nachzudenken. Bulli Bullmann legte sich hin, dimmte das Licht im Raum, schenkte sich das Glas voll, setzte es an die Lippen - und erstarrte.Er glaubte seinen Augen nicht trauen zu können. Genau in seiner Blickrichtung, dort vor dem Schminktisch mit dem großen Spiegel, den er extra für seine Bettgenossinnen eingerichtet hatte, stieg so etwas wie Nebel auf. Und dann manifestierte sich erst schemenhaft, dann aber immer deutlicher die Kontur einer Frau; einer alten, hässlichen Frau in einem altertümlichen bis auf den Boden reichenden Kleid. Sie hielt einen Strauchbesen in den Händen und begann zu fegen. "Wer - wer bist du?", brachte Bulli Bullmann mit Mühe hervor, weil ihm ein Kloß im Hals zu stecken schien."Du kennst mich", antwortete die unheimliche Gestalt mit einer hohen krächzenden Stimme. "Es ist schon sehr, sehr lange her, dass ich bei dir gefegt habe."Bulli Bullmanns Gedanken überschlugen sich, aber dann war sie plötzlich wieder da, die Erinnerung an ein schreckliches Ereignis, das er verdrängt hatte.
