About the Book

For runners' that sometimes wish for better times, or results: Success or failure didn't have to do with their physical ability. The runners' goals where realistic, do-able however mentally something kept the runners' from achieving their desired outcome.

Surprised? You shouldn't be, after all if you only train the body how will the brain improve? We are creatures of habit. And how often have you exercised new habits, new thought processes that ignite that motivational spirit? It is not part of our school's syllabus, nor does the work environment teach you how to change your thinking. If you start to change your thinking during your run, and you feel the improvement, just imagine where else you can apply this.

There are moments of thought, that are not helpful in reaching a goal. For some runners' they just pop up and go away again. For others, there is what seems like a constant stream of chatter, of internal dialogue. And unfortunately for some runners, this thinking has become second nature, without noticing it. It is part of the run, whether you planned it or not. That internal dialogue is not going to go away by itself. The thought process is in a vicious circle, that always leads back to the start.
The runner that lacks consistency, is so used to ending up having an excuse ready, doing something else, that the disappointment becomes less painful as time progresses. And the runner who remembers past marathon personal bests, or a master third place finish, is somehow drained of all power and motivation needed to set new goals for the next season of life.
Again, runners have a potential and fitness level that definitely allows for improved times, and faster pace irrespective of age.
Now it might not come as a surprise but the reason for this difference between a goal that you want to reach, and not achieving it, is due to what is going on in your head.

Running is a simple task don't you agree? I mean there are so many sports that are more technically demanding, require huge concentration levels. But running, let's be honest it does not require a lot, or does it?
You can go outside and see yourself run at a snail's pace, and it is a run. Correct? Well, yes technically it is correct, because deep down you know, that you can do better. But somewhere over the years you realized that this high intensity training, feels tough...plus the regular strength training, fast workouts, somehow, you started avoiding it. You hear yourself making excuses. You might be making yourself grow accustomed to the fact that your long slow runs, now are your complete run training.

Well, you deserve better. Your time, your effort, deserves a better result.
Join me for the next couple of minutes and catch a glimpse of what could be, and the steps are straightforward to learn.
But before I do, I have one request, please place all your doubts, and critical thinking to one side. Just imagine putting them in a Jar and placing them to one side. Take a fresh Jar to be able to absorb the new ideas. Then afterwards, after you have tried it, can you compare the two.
"The way you think determines the way you feel, and the way you feel determines the way you act."
Sounds great doesn't it but how to relate to this whilst running. Well here goes. In Brain Training for Runners' you will get "hands on tools" that you will use during your practise, and run events, that ensure you access and unleash what you trained for. Your full potential.
