Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Pädagogische Soziologie, Note: 1,3, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Um die der Arbeit zu Grunde liegende Fragestellung, die der Titel aufwirft, beantworten zu können, sollen zunächst der für die Fragestellung relevante Teil seiner Theorie (Kap. 2), vor Allem aber die Ursachen, die Pierre Bourdieu für die Chancenungleichheit nennt, dargestellt werden - denn nach Bourdieu folgt die Selektion im Schulsystem einer inneren Logik, die die Schüler der unteren Klassen benachteiligt. Dazu findet zunächst eine Einführung in die Soziologie Pierre Bourdieus über grundlegende Begriffe wie Habitus, Kapital, Feld und Klasse statt (2.1). Darauf folgend kann dann die Funktionsweise der kulturellen Reproduktion erläutert werden (2.2, 2.3) und beschrieben werden, wie Bourdieu in diesem Zusammenhang den Begriff Chancenungleichheit versteht (2.4). Den Ungleichheit reproduzierenden Mechanismen des Schulsystems kann nach Bourdieu nur durch eine Rationale Pädagogik entgegengewirkt werden (2.5), diese Mittel und Wege, die aus der Chancenungleichheit herausführen, sollen anschließend aufgezeigt werden (2.6). Hierzu werden auch die vom Collège de France entwickelten Vorschläge für ein Bildungswesen der Zukunft miteinbezogen, an denen Bourdieu maßgeblich mitwirkte. Um zu überprüfen, ob Bourdieus Theorie einen plausiblen Erklärungsansatz bieten kann, werden im zweiten Teil aktuelle Ergebnisse der Empirie hinzugezogen (Kap. 3): Die PISA-Studie 2009 untersuchte die Abhängigkeit der Bildungschancen von der sozialen Herkunft. Hierbei ergaben sich unterschiedlich starke Zusammenhänge, d.h. in jedem Schulsystem hat die soziale Herkunft eines Schülers einen anderen Einflussgrad auf den Schulerfolg. Wenn nun Bourdieu die Gründe für ungleiche Bildungschancen korrekt erfasst hat, müssen sich die Länder in diesen Punkten voneinander unterscheiden.
