Einige dieser Künstlerinnen nutzen in Youtube-Musikvideos gezielt ihre Selbst-Sexualisierung und propagieren diese als Empowerment. In der Musikwelt und auch in wissenschaftlichen postfeministischen Sexualisation of Culture-Debatten herrscht ein Konflikt darüber, inwiefern das bewusste Sexualisieren des eigenen Selbst als Ermächtigung bezeichnet werden kann und ob dies nicht viel eher eine maskierte Objektifizierung ist. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurde anhand von Fokusgruppen-Diskussionen untersucht, wie junge Frauen sich und die Selbst-Sexualisierung der Rapperinnen innerhalb des benannten Diskurses verorten. Ist für sie die Selbst-Sexualisierung der Künstlerinnen Empowerment oder Objektifizierung? Ist die jeweilige Rapperin eine Boss Bitch oder ein Lustobjekt? Die Ergebnisse der Diskussionen wurden innerhalb einer Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring ausgewertet.
