What if I tell you God created us to live and not die? Science talks about biological immortality or the "genetic switch" to reverse aging. For thousands of years, the prophets in the Scriptures wrote about our spiritual future, but no one told us that physical death is not annihilation or the end of life. Two truths encapsulate our tomorrow. The first is the resurrection of our body, and the second is the eternal existence of the soul that indwells our body. Wrote the apostle Paul in First Corinthians 15:32: "If the dead are not raised, LET US EAT AND DRINK, FOR TOMORROW WE DIE." It is the point: God created us to live and not perish in the grave forever.
Live ForeverAside from the teachings in the Old Testament concerning eternal life, Christ also taught His resurrection validates His claim that we will become immortal. "[B]ecause I live," said Christ, "you will live also." (John 14:19b) If our eternal life is untrue, then Jesus is a big liar, and the devil would have aborted the early days of Christianity. But he failed because Christ's resurrection proves He is the Truth.
Our Lord also taught that, "[U]nless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3) The second birth is Christ's method to live forever. It thumbs down all reliance on our self-righteousness and good works to get salvation and entrance to heaven. But what is born again?
Know HowMost people dismiss Christ's message of our eternal life in heaven, as it is too good a teaching to be true. Life after death is just beyond the radar of our earthly minds. People died, and no one returned to tell the story. It's how negative we are about the Gospel. For even though Christ resurrected, we persist in rejecting His Word.
It is the core of this book: Man's Immortality!
When someone tells you the path to longevity, you would love and follow him because you don't want to die. The grave terrifies us. But when the Son of God condescended to redeem us from sin by His death on the cross, the Jews crucified Him because He offered to all immortal bliss in God's city.
The Precondition to Live ForeverChrist loves us and wants us to be with Him in heaven, but we crucified Him daily in our hearts by unbelief.
This book presents the benefits of trusting and relying upon Christ's promises related to the unknown realm after death. It deals with the second birth experience according to the Word of God, as it is our Lord's precondition to live forever.
