★★★DESCRIPTION★★★

"Borderman: A Love Story" is a story of soldiers- their determination, courage, struggle, and success. The main protagonist of the story is a young man Vijay Singh Rana, who revolts against his father. His father, who himself is a military man, desires that his son should join the Indian Army as an officer, but the over disciplining attitude of the father and over pampering attitude of the mother towards son makes him arrogant and frustrated. His frustration crosses the limit when he fails to become an Army officer and his father rebukes him. To take revenge for his insult he enrolls in the Indian Paramilitary Force (Border Security Force). Although, he regrets it when his father is martyred while defusing land mine in Kashmir valley.

He is posted to the North-Eastern state of Tripura on the Indo-Bangladesh International border. While on duty, he saves a Bangladeshi girl Runa Chakraborty from the clutches of Muslim rapist boys. He falls in love with the girl. He keeps on meeting with the girl on duty without caring consequences of his love. One day he is caught by the Border Guarding Bangladesh (BGB) and is taken into custody as a prisoner. He is tortured in the hands of BGB but he doesn't reveal the secret of the force. However, he is handed over to BSF. The BSF authority finds him guilty of crossing the International Indo-Bangladesh border without a valid reason. He is awarded 28 days imprisonment in the BSF custody. After the punishment he is warned to keep his distance from the girl otherwise face the court-martial. Despite that, he meets the girl and resolves to remain in the service and face the challenges of life. His undeterred act of meeting Runa Chakraborty lands him in more difficulties. He is posted in the far-flung area of the Indo- Bangladesh border as a punishment but he survives. Being a common soldier of BSF his struggle does not stop here. His proposal to marry the girl is turned down by the father of the girl who is not ready to marry his daughter with the common soldier of the BSF. He resolves to become an officer in BSF and then marry the girl.

His twin brother Ajay Singh joins the Indian Army. He is a daredevil officer who carries out several military operations against the militants in Kashmir valley, but he is also martyred in the military operation. It is a great loss to the family; particularly for his wife Jaya and one year old child.
