About the Author: Ross Johnston is a semi-retired pastor living in British Columbia, Canada. In his early years, he worked at a variety of occupations: farmer, student (perpetual!), retail stock boy, geology exploration technician, warehouseman, city pick up and delivery truck driver, inter-city bus driver, custodian, construction laborer and residential home construction superintendent, to name a few. He completed four degrees: Th.B., M.R.E., M.Div. and Doctor of Ministry. All of this background prepared him for his major life-time commitment to ministry, working as a senior pastor, associate pastor and representative for several para-church agencies - involvement that spanned over 39 years of service. Service on several ministry boards broadened his leadership experience. He founded and heads up the service ministry, Soul Care Sojourners. Caringly helping people face the challenges of living is his passion. Ross has faced black bears in the wilderness, been flown into isolated lakes to work, taken flying lessons, and traveled worldwide to Romania, India, and the Caribbean where he recently went sailing with his siblings. He has cruised to Mexico, Alaska, the Caribbean and Hawaii with his wife. Camping in their Trail-Lite trailer and kayaking are among his favorite past-times. He was married in 1971 to Beverley and they have three adult children, one son-in-law and three delightful granddaughters. His ministry to seniors began when he was in his early 20's and has continued up to the present time - a time in which he is now numbered as one of them. However, he often says, nobody in their 50's or early 60's wants to be called a senior - unless there is a discount on the restaurant menu - then we are in!
