Su discurso nos lleva por lugares sinuosos, calles oscuras, viviendas grises a punto de morir en la desidia, rincones oscuros, bancos abandonados y recovecos del día a día. El ambiente denso de sus fabulaciones invita al cuestionamiento. ¿Qué es la noche en este libro? ¿A quién amenazan las bocas? ¿Está alguien a salvo de la decadencia o es inherente a la sobrevida? Yuraima juega con los instintos, se cuestiona la naturaleza humana. Cada historia es una deconstrucción de algo sagrado: La familia, el matrimonio, el placer, la maternidad. Existe en los cuentos la idea común del hombre estigmatizado por sus decisiones, víctima, juguete del destino condenado a pagar culpas propias o ajenas. Esa infelicidad es poética y está tratada con fino tacto en los relatos. Son cuentos que sorprenden, historias que saltan. Los narradores son diversos. La economía de palabras se disfruta y uno emerge de los cuentos con inquietud y zozobra. La madurez de Trujillo Concepción se advierte en sus historias y más aún en sus preocupaciones y cuestionamientos. Desde cuentos sustantivos como El viejo hasta aproximaciones filosóficas como A bordo del SS Weser uno percibe oficio. Yuraima juega con los límites. Provoca interrogantes. Emula una conversación y no se arriesga en la formulación de conclusiones. Por eso Las bocas de la noche nos remite a una plática, una entrevista si se quiere. Tiene el lector la sensación de ser interrogado. Es responsable de terminar las historias, se implica en los juicios y es quizás un poco víctima del pacto ficcional. Yuraima manipula y uno accede gustoso. El resultado es placentero y un tanto sobrecogedor cuando se mira a distancia. Imágenes que cautivan las de este libro de relatos. A veces cerradas a veces abiertas, Las bocas de la noche también pueden ser fauces. Pueden dejar un beso y una mordida en el lector que se acerca a sus páginas.
Los misterios necesarios como condimento de la existencia. Fantasmas por doquier, como iconos del miedo de los hombres. Siempre en busca de su propia esencia. Todo esto y más se encuentra en La boca de la noche. Un libro donde la oscuridad es la luz de su contenido.
Otro de los mitos de la literatura cubana es no creer en la narrativa femenina y solo unos pocos nombres logran descollar después de mucho esfuerzo.
