This true story is about a man who began life as a young innocent boy on a farm in Saskatchewan, Canada, during which time he learned a lot about life from the animals on the farm along with some of their peculiarities.
But at 14 he became restless pleading with his mother to allow him to go to sea.
At 15 he did!
That is the year boats, bars, and brothels became an engulfing part of his life at least for the next phase.
Seedy, debauched, raunchy, sex filled years consumed that phase when he was in port. Out on the ocean, it was a rough, unimaginable life often existing on seeming rust bucket boats you'd think wouldn't make it back to port.
But being crew on the last historic 1949 voyage of the Windjammer Pamir is a positive memory Nick says he will never forget. Today Nick is one of the last living crewmen in the world.
But then suddenly, he had a 'wake up call' and surprising everyone, he decided to change his life from one of rampart sex and the sea, to a remarkable life in the sky and in cockpits.
Flying Tiger Moths, Chipmunks and Helicopters, Nick became a skilled, highly sought after well-known pilot in many parts of the world because he would take on very difficult flying tasks other pilots wouldn't attempt, he did and ... succeeded and continued flying fearlessly for years.
Nick married then finished his professional flying life in the late 70's. From then on he became involved in other matters that consumed his attention. Is that for another book? Maybe!
