About the Book

Is it possible that love can find you twice in a lifetime?

Divorced, heartbroken, and searching for a new start, Nicholas Pajak no longer believes in love. How could he? His ex-wife had betrayed him, leaving empty closets and picture frames behind as she walked out the door.

Nick gave up on his old life, career, and moved to another town, took a job he didn't need, and tried to begin again.

Blurred Edges . . . is a story about the wonderful ways life can surprise you. Avenues once thought of closed off were opened. How a chance telephone call could be turned into an opportunity for another.

Set in the Orange County area, California, Blurred Edges begins with Nick's relocation. There, he hoped for seclusion--free from any hurt. His heart had grown calloused and deemed love to be nothing more than a myth. Then he stumbled upon a simple gold ring that altered everything and to her.

Mary Berean, eccentric in her own way, came from a dysfunctional family. Divorced once, she continued to have an unmovable faith in love. Mary tried to keep her past hidden but was tormented by the "Black Dreams" caused from the family curse. Remaining silent to her secrets tested Nick's love. He wondered at what point do you really know someone.

Ultimately, an extraordinary, moving story that explores the limitation of how far one would go for love.

About the Author:

Kurt is a native Californian--born and raised. Other than the two years he lived in Hawaii, where his first child was born, he has lived exclusively in the Los Angeles/Orange County areas.

His journey on becoming an author has been considerably unorthodox as compared to most working authors. He doesn't hold a college degree in English Literature or Language and never worked or spent time in the literary or publishing industries. In fact, about the only thing he has in common with most other writers is his love of books.

He does hold two degrees: a B.A. degree in Political Science from UCLA, and a B.S. degree in Accounting from Chapman University, Orange, CA. He paid for both degrees by working odd jobs and gambling. Yes, he said gambling, though he prefers the term "calculated risk."

Certainly, Kurt's not endorsing any type of "calculated risk" to secure one's financial means for an education. On the contrary, He believes in the old-fashioned way of making money; you earn it. He is one of the lucky ones, but that's another story.

After college, he worked in the tax and accounting fields while doubling up on a second job umpiring professional tennis. Kurt worked both fields simultaneously for eighteen years. Having good fortune during the real estate boom and other successful investing, he was able to retire early at the age of forty-five.

He then sat down and wrote his first book What Love Looks Like. Years later, Kurt completed Blurred Edges, the second installment of his planned trilogy. Each book can stand on its own merits; however Blurred Edges provides some surprising revelations not previously revealed in his first book.

Writing has allowed Kurt to live various colorful lives (many have argued not so different from his own). For stories he's written down, in selective ways, he's lived it. Though, the facts and circumstances are fictional, his feelings expressed were all very real. On a relationship level, Kurt has been married over twenty years and has two wonderful children. Again, he's one of the lucky ones.
