About the Book

"Is a lion in a cage still king of the jungle?"With this seeming riddle, wordsmith and poet Kennyrich creatively navigates this unapologetic narrative about the enigmatic African-American race and the perception of us in historical and contemporary American society. Notably, he explores what factors contribute to making this population of infinite potential America's public enemy No. 1, and what roles (if any) we play in fueling the fires of fear. More importantly, he explores what we can do ourselves to change this dynamic and create a better future for our and future generations of Black Americans.Using his signature writing style, which infuses a seamless blend of poetry and prose, Kennyrich paints a vivid picture that highlights longstanding plagues that continue to afflict black people in the United States today. In truth, you may be offended by some of the controversial words herein, or you may well find yourself in agreement with them. All the same, you will ultimately be impacted and perhaps even enriched by the bold and candid perspectives they offer on race relations in 21st century America.
About the Author: "I may be many things in life; but come what may, I may never be more less than just me." -kR Kennyrich Fomunung was born Kenneth Sabum Fomunung Jr. He was raised for the most part in his beloved motherland, Africa; specifically in a small nation off its west coast, Cameroon, where he grew up a little rascal, along with five siblings - three sisters and two brothers. He also spent the bulk of his turbulent teenage years in the United States of America, in the international and diverse city of Houston, TX, where he first went to high school, and onto college at The University of Houston. He has since become a U.S. citizen. Fully understanding that no tree stands firm without having solid roots Kennyrich appreciates his background and heritage, as they have provided him with a great sense of responsibility and a relatively profound perspective on life. Furthermore, they have spurred him on to dream big, think big, and be big, while simultaneously ensuring he stays grounded in humility and cognizant of God's commandments, and what he considers his civic responsibility-to enrich the lives of others, especially those less privileged than himself. Kennyrich, now a successful wordsmith, poet, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur, lives by a simple formula: Prayer + Hard work = Guaranteed Success It is through this fundamental belief system that at just 25 years of age he recently published his debut book, "The GLASS: Reflections of a Realistic Idealist", an impressive literary collection of inspirational and entertaining poetry and prose about the power of words and the importance of perspective. True to his almost obsessive commitment to excellence in creative writing, passion for storytelling, and enthusiasm for expressing inspiring thoughts and relatable feelings, Kennyrich now brings us his second published title.
