The author lives in South Australia and attended school in the state as well as university 1972-75. He was an above average sportsman, was excellent academically, and had interests outside of his expected activities including the writing of poetry. This volume contains three books, Sketches, Meditation and Brain Damage. They are interactive and were written in the years 1992 through to 2019. Sketches contains short stories and narratives with several parts dedicated to serious topics seemingly linked to the state. "This is a small collection of essays I wrote during the 80's and 90's. Most were fiction, just playful experiments with words and ideas. For example, "Stigmata" is a play on words based upon the name of the famous Australian entertainment mogul, pop show promoter, Robert Stigwood, who at one time was a silent partner with The Beatles manager Brian Epstein; he "produced" the 60s rock show, "Jesus Christ Superstar," and the 70s hit movie, "Grease," with Scientologist John Travolta, who previously played in a TV show called "Welcome Back Cotter" opposite the character named "Vinnie" [see, Saint Vianie refer-ence.]"Meditation is semi-autobiographical covering travels to Europe as well as how the author gained knowledge and realization through the practice of a number of meditation methods."...the day after the train journey I was sitting on a park bench on the shore of a lake where the town of Zurich was. I wasn't doing anything in particular apart from enjoying the view when a couple walked up to me and introduced themselves as Beat and Rita. They seemed very friendly and invited me to come with them for lunch, which I did. Beat then invited me to spend the night at his parents' home in the foothills. He caught a light train with me and took me to their flat and introduced me and showed me to his bedroom. He was going to spend the night with Rita and his parents under-stood perfectly. They didn't speak to me very much and after dinner I just went to bed and fell asleep. The next day I was awake fairly early and planned to go visit Seelesberg. I had to work out how to get there as it is in the Swiss Alps and on the other side of the large lake. Beat had come back home by the time I was about to leave and when I told him where I was going he expressed a lot of negativity about it all. Nevertheless I set out by catching a light train into the city and then located a bus station where I could get a bus into the Alps. I was a little miffed when it showed up because it was a small minivan rather than a regular sized bus. But I got on and soon we were on our way up into the mountains. We stopped for lunch at a chalet and by now the sun was out and shining very warm. The countryside looked picture post-card perfect right down to cows grazing in the meadows. I got back on the bus and waited for it to start. We had come up behind Seelesberg taking a smooth ride into the mountains rather than attempt to go fast and up high steep passes. Once the minivan got going things settled down and about an hour later it stopped and I was told that this was Seelesberg. I got out and saw where I was."Brain Damage is also semi-autobiographical and covers events that took place after his graduation in 1975 including interactions with organized crime figures. spiritual masters and Hindu astrologers."In the 60s various new philosophies were articulated having to do with the new electronic side of life; one such outline said that much of the media programming results in brain damage to those who receive it. This was similar to ideas about political correctness as presented in Communist systems such as the USSR, where dissidents were defined by their non-belief in the official party line"The purpose in publishing this volume is to generate a money income. When the works have been made available for free via Amazon they have gotten over 50 readers. In this way this book is a rare thing. Have fun!
