THE BIO-MECH WAR
An existential war between biologicals and mechs.
In the near future, scientists discover a flickering artificial sun headed towards Earth. Code named "Deimos", this alien threat becomes the impetus for a massive outworld colonization program, the creation of an army of mechs to defend the planet, and a bioengineering initiative to adapt the human race to survive the apocalypse. All of these projects are kept secret from the civilian population, including the orphan Junior Rangers they depend upon.

During the next mission, Zeus-2 bats fly through the cyclone before the black hole closes. Rangers must figure out how to track and kill the hardy bats before the city is opened to vacuum. During the quarantine Junior Rangers learn that an artificially generated sun will reach Earth in eighteen months. Their psychiatrist's secret plans begin to make sense, but neither Junior Rangers nor the mechs are inclined to cooperate.
About the Author: During a long career of science and engineering, I wrote in stolen moments adding up to a few million words. Now that I'm retired, I finally have time to whip them into shape. I'm also writing a new series, Gulag, that should start appearing soon. Enjoy your life.
GULAG
The world's richest man had a dream to rid society of criminals that preyed on honest citizens. It was easy to get Congress to pass legislation, the enterprise would generate vast sums of money feeding back to congressmen. What they didn't know, what no one knew, was that it was a con. John Harkin didn't care about ridding society of criminals; he cared about protecting humankind from extinction.

Two hundred thousand years ago, the Milky Way was seeded with metal spheres filled with entangled quantum bits. The devices allowed digitized intelligence to live inside created worlds. As technological civilizations on other worlds learned how to encode intelligence, they entered these quantum portals, joining a multi-species society that lived inside. The portal makers disappeared a long time ago, and just when humankind needed it most, the system was in crisis.
