Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Interkulturelle Pädagogik, Note: 1,3, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (Institut für Soziologie), Veranstaltung: Soziale Lage und Integration von Migranten, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Lebens- und Erfolgsgeschichte von Fathi Akin, einer der zur Zeit bekanntesten und zugleich beliebtesten Filmregisseure des deutschen Kinos, klingt zu schön, um wahr zu sein: Als Sohn türkischer Gastarbeiter wuchs er in einem "Sozialen- Brennpunkt- Viertel" Hamburgs auf, war zeitweise sogar Mitglied einer türkischen Jugendgang und sprach außerhalb der Schule so gut wie kein Deutsch. Alle seine Freunde besuchten die Förder-, Haupt- oder bestenfalls die Realschule. Kontakt mit deutschen Jugendlichen hatte er kaum (vgl. Das Gupta 2009). Wider alle Erwartungen kämpfte er sich schließlich ganz nach oben, beendete seine Schullaufbahn mit der allgemeinen Hochschulreife und absolvierte ein Studium in "visuelle Kommunikation" an der Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg (vgl. Distelmeyer 1997). Fathi Akin gilt heute nicht nur als das unangefochtene Nachwuchstalent der deutschen Filmbranche, sondern auch als vermeintliches Vorzeigebeispiel für die integrative Wirkung des hiesigen Bildungssystems. Leider ist der Werdegang des türkischstämmigen Filmregisseurs eine Ausnahme: Von gelungener Integration in das deutsche Bildungssystem und somit auch in alle anderen entscheidenden gesellschaftlichen Bereiche kann in den meisten Fällen der in Deutschland lebenden Migrantenkinder keine Rede sein. Dem ersten Integrationsindikatorenbericht der Bundesregierung können wir entnehmen, dass jugendliche Migrantenkinder mit 41,7% fast doppelt so oft die Hauptschule besuchen wie ihre deutschen Altersgenossen. Im Jahr 2007 lag die Abgängerquote ohne Schulabschluss bei Migrantenkindern mit 16% sogar mehr als doppelt so hoch als bei der deutschen Vergleichsgruppe (vgl. Integrationsindikatorenbericht 2009: S. 46.).
