Und dieser schlichten wie bemerkenswerten Faktizität der Menschen, dem Fakt, daß wir mit Denken ausgezeichnet sind sowie den sich daraus ergebenden pädagogischen Implikationen, widmet sich die vorliegende Diplomarbeit aus bildungsphilosophischer Sicht. Sie befasst sich in diesem Zusammenhang als bildungstheoretische Grundlagenforschung mit dem Pädagogikverständnis und Bildungsbegriff des Mainzer Bildungstheoretikers Theodor Ballauff (1911-1995). Der besondere Interpretationsfokus von Ballauffs philosophischer Pädagogik liegt dabei, wie der Titel andeutet, auf dem Begriff der Möglichkeit, der in dreifacher Weise die Frageperspektive der Arbeit leitet: Ersten wird herausgestellt wie eine alternative, antithetische Grundlegung von Pädagogik, entgegen den gängigen anthropologischen, ethischen und sozialisationstheoretischen Begründungen von Erziehung und Bildung, möglich ist. Die Grundlage liegt für Ballauff im Denken. Dieses "Denken" als unumgängliche und konstitutive Möglichkeitsbedingung unserer Selbst- und Weltauffassung wird ausführlich analysiert und in seinen Strukturmomenten zur Sprache gebracht. In einem zweiten Schritt erfolgt eine Erläuterung der Ermöglichung von Bildung. Bildung versteht Theodor Ballauff als "Selbständigkeit im Denken". Dazu wird, ausgehend von sozialisationstheoretischen Überlegungen und der sozial-historischen Bedingtheit einer begrenzenden Wirklichkeitsauffassung, eine pädagogische Vorgehensweise dargestellt, die Bildung ermöglichen kann. Drittens wird dargelegt, was im Rahmen des Möglichen liegt, wenn Bildung als gedanklich radikale Selbstständigkeit verwirklicht ist. Dazu werden sechs Merkmale von Bildung ausgearbeitet und auf den
