Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1, Universität Hamburg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Bilder und immer wieder Bilder" klagt Cécile in Theodor Fontanes gleichnamigen Roman über die erdrückende Bilderflut im Berlin der 1880er Jahre; auch der Blick auf die "reale" Welt wird immer wieder von bildästhetischen Kategorien geprägt. Die Bilder treten vor die Seele und breiten sich aus. Ein minimaler Reiz reicht und ein Bild tut sich auf. Bei vielen Figuren aus den Romanen Fontanes lässt sich eine besondere Wahrnehmung der Realität feststellen, die man als "ästhetisch" bezeichnen könnte. Die Figuren betrachten die Wirklichkeit und sehen sie dabei nicht immer als solche, sondern vielmehr als Bilder, ohne manchmal die realen Sachverhalte zu erkennen. Diese Wahrnehmung scheint eng mit einer ebenso ästhetischen Lebenshaltung verbunden zu sein. In der vorliegender Arbeit soll zunächst gezeigt werden, wie Fontane die Idee des "bildhaften Sehens" konkretisiert. Es scheint, dass Fontane die Personen in seinen Romanen durch ihre Art der Wahrnehmung charakterisiert. In diesem Zusammenhang möchte ich daher näher betrachten, welche Figuren in den Romanen von Theodor Fontane sich besonders gerne von "Bildern" im Sinne einer ästhetischer Kategorie "entzücken". Des weiteren soll analysiert werden, wie die Figuren ihre Sinneseindrücke verarbeiten. Dabei ist besonders von Interesse, wie sich die Art der Verarbeitung auf das Verhältnis dieser Figuren zur Realität auswirkt. Anregend erscheint in diesem Zusammenhang die Fragestellung, die Ulrike Kunz bezüglich ästhetischer Literatur beschäftigte. Sie stellt die Frage, ob die ästhetische Literatur: "nur als Ausdruck einer allgemeinen Lebenshaltung gesehen werden darf oder ob nicht vielmehr die Betonung des Sinnlich-Schönen auch eine spezielle Verarbeitung von Realität darstellt, (...) die als Ausweichen von der hässlichen Seiten der Wirklichkeit in ihrer Bedeutung herabgesetzt werden so
