About the Author: CL Putnam is a retired Highway Engineering Quality Specialist, who lives in the picturesque Rogue River Valley of Southern Oregon. While employed with the Oregon Department of Transportation, she was asked to write the narratives for three major infrastructure projects that had been nominated for national recognition. Due to her writing skills, all three won the "Gold Award" for their category. In 1977 she graduated from El Camino College in Torrance, California with a degree in history. Her special interests include anthropology, psychology and comparative religions. As a freelance writer, she has had articles published in Western Horseman, Equus and American Atheist magazines, along with numerous other publications. (She also has nearly 300 "Letters to the Editor" to her credit.) She is currently working on her fifth novel. When not at the keyboard, she enjoys hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tennis, kayaking, horseback riding and scuba diving. An accomplished horsewoman, she has bred, trained and shown registered Quarter Horses and Arabians. When time permits, she loves to travel. Her favorite "travel adventure" was the pilgrimage she made to the Holy Land...during a Lebanese rocket attack. She is active in several charitable organizations, including the MS Society, Diabetes Association, Habitat for Humanity, and Jackson County (Oregon) Historical Society. For seven years she was a volunteer and board member for HOPE (Horses Offering People Excellence), a therapeutic horseback riding facility for physically and emotionally challenged children and adults. At present, she is a "foster mother" to abandoned cats and kittens for the CATS (Committed Alliance To Strays) organization of Medford, Oregon. She is an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights and teaches self-defense for women and children. Her life motto is, "Well, there's always Plan B."
